• Old School WWF Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 69th birthday of Old School WWF Veteran Salvatore Bellomo.

After touring the U.S., European & Canadian territories, Bellomo joined the World Wrestling Federation in mid-1982, where he was used as a likeable lower-mid card babyface guy.

Around the second half of 1984, Vince McMahon started to use Salvatore more as a ‘Jobber To The Stars’ to put over a lot of the talent that were acquired from other territories.

Sal did a great job as an undercard WWF Superstar until he left the WWF in 1987, went back to Europe, before he ended up in Tod Gordon’s NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling, the promotion that eventually morphed into Extreme Championship Wrestling.

He stayed with ECW till mid-1994 and then continued to wrestle for smaller (independent) promotions all around the world.

Despite being semi-retired for quite a few years, Bellomo’s last match happened as late as in 2018.

• Latest NXT Angle Could Be Vince McMahon’s Work

As we noted earlier, Vince McMahon wasn’t happy with NXT’s ratings, which is why some changes on the brand are expected.

Last night on NXT, William Regal announced that Finn Balór, Keith Lee and Johnny Gargano will battle in a Triple Threat match on next week’s NXT for the North American Championship.

The winner of that match will then go on to face NXT Champion Adam Cole in a Winner Takes All “Title For Title” match.

The Wrestling Observer noted that McMahon could be behind this angle, as he’s pretty fond of doing matches where multiple Titles are on the line.

“NXT, it’s obvious to me that Vince has taken interest in it. We had a throw up scene. We had a build for, you know, they’re really building for the championship thing on TV in particular, the winner take all.”

The Double Champion (NXT Champion & NXT North American Champion) will be crowned on the July 8th episode of NXT. Vince most probably chose this date to give competition to AEW, as July 8th episode of AEW Dynamite will feature the second night of their Fyter Fest event.
