MJF Injury Update Reveals Cause and AEW Status

A new update has provided more clarity on MJF and the knee injury that recently forced him out of an independent wrestling appearance.

On June 4, 2026, MJF was pulled from a scheduled match for Beyond Wrestling after the promotion announced he had suffered a hyper-extended knee. The situation led to immediate speculation about how the injury occurred, especially following a high-impact piledriver spot involving Rush.

However, a report from Fightful Select has clarified that the piledriver was not the cause. Instead, the injury reportedly happened during a separate sequence involving Rush delivering a knee strike in the corner. The incident has been described internally as a “freak accident,” with no blame placed on Rush.

Despite the setback, there is some positive news regarding MJF’s short-term outlook. While he was unable to compete at the Beyond Wrestling event, he is still expected to appear on AEW programming as the company continues to evaluate the severity of the injury. At this stage, there is no indication that he will be written off television.

Following MJF’s withdrawal from the independent show, Andrade was announced as his replacement. Andrade, who is aligned with The Don Callis Family, is now scheduled to face Bobby Orlando at the Beyond Wrestling event in Cranston, Rhode Island.

The situation remains fluid as AEW monitors MJF’s condition. While the injury disrupted his outside bookings, it appears the promotion is taking a measured approach before determining any long-term impact on his in-ring schedule.
