Penta defeated Rey Mysterio to retain the Intercontinental Championship during “WWE Raw.”
Penta and Mysterio were facing one another for the first time in WWE, having fought first in 2016 during Lucha Underground’s first episode of Season Three, and then once more in 2018 for NEW Wrestling. Mysterio picked up the win in both.
At multiple points in the match the action was taken to the outside with Penta wearing down his challenger with chops and dumping him back down on the apron. In the ring, Mysterio got an early near-fall with a tornado DDT.
Penta connected with Penta Driver in the middle of the ring, going for what looked to be the winning cover before Mysterio kicked out. Mysterio looked to have the match stolen from the champion as he connected with 619 and the accompanying frog splash, but Penta kicked out at the last moment.
The pair entered a back-and-forth exchange that ended with another 619, but Penta got his knees up on the splash this time around. He followed that up with a Mexican Destroyer for the winning pinfall, retaining his title for the ninth time this reign.
After the match, Ethan Page and Rusev jumped both competitors. Rusev delivered a Machka Kick to Penta before cinching in the Accolade on Mysterio. But then Dragon Lee ran down the ramp to make the save and oust Rusev and Page from the ring.
Page threw Lee into the timekeeper’s area and returned to the ring alongside Rusev, attacking Penta and Mysterio again before removing the latter’s mask. Chad Gable then made his own run down the ramp to make the save, clearing the ring before looking at Mysterio’s mask contemplatively.
One of the men whose been credited for breaking the 27-year hex on the New York Knicks, WWE’s Danhausen, is expected to be a guest in attendance at tonight’s Game Three in the NBA Finals, at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” Madison Square Garden, according to today’s report by PWInsider. The Knicks are currently 2-0 in the series against the San Antonio Spurs.
Though his curses have worked in the ring on “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, Kit Wilson, online streamer/ influencer IShowSpeed, Grayson Waller, The New Day (prior to their departure), and The Miz, he never thought his abilities would ever backfire, let alone help propel an underdog team in another professional sports realm. Unbeknownst to him, his cursing abilities created a turnaround for the New York team, as they secured their position in this year’s Finals after winning the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 130-93. Even though many attribute this broken spell toward players Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, it was “ESPN’s SportsCenter” who gave the “Very Nice, Very Evil” star credit for concocting this improbable to probable moment.
After he leaves courtside tonight, Danhausen will return to his lab-hausen in the WWE. The mad genius is currently working on another top secret project. His last televised match was at Backlash, where he and Minihausen came out victorious against Wilson and The Miz earlier last month.
Tipoff for game three will begin tonight at 8:30 PM ET.
WWE RAW Results – June 8, 2026 – Welcome to WrestlingAttitude’s coverage of WWE RAW on June 8, from the Accor Arena in Paris, France, at a special start time of 2 PM ET.
We are live from the Accor Arena in Paris, France, as Oba Femi makes his way to the ring to start the show.
Oba says the people of Paris are awesome and he has business to get down to. He says there is a lot they need to touch on. He and Paul Heyman don’t agree on much, but they share one thing. They don’t believe in predictions — they believe in spoilers. Oba says it is a spoiler that he will run through everyone in the King of the Ring. It will continue through Night of Champions, where he will destroy him as well. He says he will take his rightful place on the throne as King of the Ring, and that isn’t a prediction, it’s a spoiler.
Oba says your ruler needs a crown to be a ruler. He says this is the year to collect trophies, but there is still one trophy he has not taken. That trophy is the head of Brock Lesnar. They are one and one. Brock is not here. Brock sneaks in, steals a win, and vanishes. Oba says Brock cheated to win. Paul talks about a big bad Beast, but all Oba has seen is a big bad bitch. When he gets his hands on Brock, he will settle it once and for all.
Dominik Mysterio’s music hits and he walks onto the stage.
Dom says Oba doesn’t rule anybody. He says Oba is so focused on Brock Lesnar, but he should have been focused on him. Dom asks the rookie how long he has even been here. A cup of coffee? Dom says he is a 20‑year veteran. He says he is the King of the Luchadores, and once he becomes King of the Ring, he will rule over Oba.
Dom steps onto the apron and tells Oba to make this easy, bend the knee, and respect the stache.
JD appears behind Oba and smashes him with a chair, but Oba doesn’t move.
Oba turns around and punches the chair into JD’s face. Oba grabs JD, but Dom hits a 619 to Oba. Dom goes up top, but Oba catches him out of the air and throws him across the ring. JD drags Dom to the floor to save him, at least for now.

Seth says he has a date down the line with Roman Reigns — a man he once called his brother. A man who can’t seem to win his titles on his own. A man who can’t seem to beat Seth Rollins when it matters. Seth says Roman is holding a title that does not belong to him. Seth says he made that title, and it belongs to him.

Fatu Pushes Back on Jey and Jimmy

Fatu tells them he didn’t acknowledge them — he only acknowledged Roman. He tells them to worry about LA Knight instead. Did they tell Knight to stop talking about the family? LA is probably out there running his mouth and they’re doing nothing about it.
Ricky Saints Promises SummerSlam World Title Run

LA Knight Calls Out Roman Reigns and the Bloodline Ahead of King of the Ring
LA Knight makes his way to the ring.
Knight says that on Friday he will be in a King of the Ring tournament match with Finn Balor, Royce Keys, Jey Uso, and himself. Normally he would stand here and say he’s going through all of them on Friday and then heading to SummerSlam to face Roman. He says he isn’t mad that the crowd chants for Roman because Roman has conned them and pulled the wool over their eyes. Roman is a man whose empire is crumbling, trying to hold on to whatever he can. Knight says someone will probably show up Friday to help Jey win. Jimmy and Jey told him it wasn’t his business.
Knight says he doesn’t take orders from Roman Reigns. He says he is the chief. If he wins Friday, wins King of the Ring, and faces Roman for the title, every single member of the Bloodline will come out to keep Roman champion. And Adam Pearce will allow it. Knight says there is a clear difference between how Pearce talked to him last week and how he talked to Roman the week before.
Knight says he might be unchosen, but the people chose him. He chose himself. He gets the job done. He doesn’t know how to quit or stop. Knight says he hopes Jey can do it on Friday on his own without calling his family to ringside.
Jey Uso’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring.
Jey reminds everyone that he’s right here.
The crowd wants them to run it back.
Knight says he isn’t sticking around for that.
Jey tells Knight to stay in his lane. He’s in King of the Ring, and on Friday he’ll show Knight exactly who he is. This is his warning shot.
Knight tells Jey he’s got him wrong. He respects how passionate Jey is about his family and how protective he is — that’s what a good man should be. With that in mind, Knight wishes him good luck on Friday… and then tells Jey, “screw your family.”
Jey storms back toward the ring, but Jimmy stops him at ringside and tells him to head to the back.

Sunday Night’s Main Event will take place on September 5. It will be live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 AM ET. Earlier on Monday, WWE announced that Money in the Bank is being moved to New Orleans. It will now take place on October 10 in New Orleans. MITB was originally scheduled for August 29, the same weekend at AEW ALL IN at Wembley Stadium.
