Blake Monroe Targets Tiffany Stratton and Women’s United States Title on SmackDown

Blake Monroe Targets Tiffany Stratton and Women’s United States Title on SmackDown

Blake Monroe continues to build momentum on WWE SmackDown, despite not yet competing in an official match on the brand.

On the June 5 episode of SmackDown, Monroe appeared in another vignette, this time turning her full attention toward the Women’s United States Championship and its current holder, Tiffany Stratton. The segment made it clear that Monroe sees herself as a future challenger and a rising force within the division.

Blake Monroe Tiffany Stratton feud teased on SmackDown

During the promo, Monroe began by acknowledging Stratton’s rapid rise in WWE while drawing comparisons between the two.

“Dear diary, ok we have to talk about it. Tiffany Stratton. You are quite the star. Your rise to the top was very impressive. Looking at you is like looking in a mirror, which I do love to do,” she said.

However, her tone quickly shifted as she questioned whether the champion is ready for real competition. Monroe suggested that while they may appear similar on the surface, there is a key difference between them.

“When we finally meet, it will be the box office event that fans are dying to see. But the difference between you and I is if you scratch just a little bit beneath the surface you’ll see a princess like you isn’t used to getting her hands dirty,” Monroe said.

She ended the vignette with a direct warning aimed at Stratton, signaling that a title challenge could be on the horizon.

“No. Tiffy Time is about to run on Monroe minutes. So run whilst you can because The Glamour is coming to SmackDown. Yours truly, Blake Monroe.”

The message reinforced Monroe’s intentions to go after both Stratton and her championship. While no official match has been announced, the repeated focus on the title suggests that WWE is positioning Monroe as a future contender.

This also follows a previous vignette in which Monroe mentioned several names across the roster before shifting her attention to Rhea Ripley, further indicating that she has multiple targets as she establishes herself on SmackDown.

Dave Meltzer Explains Why WWE Decision To Oppose AEW Pay-Per-View Is ‘Questionable’

As mentioned, it won’t just be WWE and AEW hosting shows on June 28 as TNA presents its annual Slammiversary pay-per-view, with an afternoon start time to avoid clashing with AEW (and now also “NXT”). WWE’s attempt to hurt its biggest rival seems simple enough, until you realize that TNA will suffer as much, if not more than “NXT” will, regardless of whether AEW puts on another standout show.

Meltzer believes that of the three shows on June 28, Slammiversary will end up taking the biggest hit from both a fan perspective and a logistical standpoint. WWE adding a show to that date could hurt their business partners in TNA as little-to-no “NXT” talent will be sent over to be a part of the show, which is what aided last year’s Slammiversary and Bound For Glory events from a promotional standpoint. What makes it even worse for TNA according to Meltzer is that WWE tried to frame the scheduling as a coincidence, though he noted that the counterprogramming has happened so much that it’s almost impossible that it was just coincidental.

Fans of WWE who have watched TNA because of the partnership will likely choose to skip TNA and wait for “NXT” in the evening, especially with The Great American Bash being on free TV while Slammiversary is on pay-per-view. In turn, this takes viewers away from TNA as casual fans will want to save money and watch a show they have access to for free, but Meltzer feels that some won’t want to be fatigued after already watching WWE Night of Champions the day before. However, the fatigue could also hit “NXT” hard as well if fans watch Night of Champions and Slammiversary instead, meaning both shows will be hurt while AEW gets to dominate the Sunday night/Monday morning discourse.

Dominik Mysterio Wins WWE SmackDown King Of The Ring Four-Way With Liv Morgan’s Help

Dominik Mysterio pinned Damian Priest in a four-way also involving Bron Breakker and United States Champion Trick Williams during “WWE SmackDown.” As a result, he will now face Oba Femi in the semi-finals of the tournament.

The match started with the four exchanging offense with one another, whittling each other down until only Mysterio and Priest remained in the ring. Priest got the better of the exchange only to get receive a Franken-Steiner from Breakker off the top rope. Mysterio broke up the resulting cover and the match was left to Williams and Breakker to fight.

Williams got the better of Breakker, fighting off both Mysterio and Priest to a massive ovation from the Bologna crowd. Williams then connected with a Book End to Breakker, going for the cover that was only then broken by Priest.

Priest connected with Razor’s Edge to Mysterio and went for the cover, but Liv Morgan hopped up on the apron to distract the referee from making the count. Breakker then took control as Priest jawed at Morgan. He speared Priest, only to receive a Trick Shot from Williams, who then went for the cover on Priest. But Mysterio pulled the referee out to prevent the count.

Breakker leapt from the apron to take Williams and himself over the announcer’s desk, leaving just Priest and Mysterio in the ring.

Priest looked for South of Heaven, but JD McDonagh ran interference and received the chokeslam himself. Priest turned back to Mysterio only to get a low blow from Morgan, allowing Mysterio to connect with the 619 and a Frog Splash to secure the winning pinfall.

Chad Gable Returns To Main Roster As Himself On WWE SmackDown, Apologizes To Rey Fenix

Chad Gable is back and has returned to WWE television as himself less than one week after being unmasked in Mexico. He arrived backstage at “SmackDown” to speak with Rey Fénix.

OG El Grande Americano lost to El Grande Americano at Noches de Los Grandes. In addition to losing the match, he lost his mask and his true identity was officially revealed to be Chad Gable. After losing, he posted on social media that he was on the way to Europe.

Gable reflected on their match at WrestleMania 41 and said his frustrations at losing to luchadors led him to wear a mask to make fun of them. Eventually, Gable realized the culture and traditions of luchadors and Mexican fans and he made a mockery of it. He admitted,”you’re not putting on a costume, you’re taking on a responsibility.” Gable flew all the way across the ocean to apologize to Fénix’s face and hopes that one day, he can forgive him. Fénix said that losing his mask was painful enough and he forgave him. But he reminded Gable that he wasn’t the only one he offended.

Gable hasn’t competed as himself since the June 9th episode of RAW. He had shoulder surgery a few weeks later and returned as OG El Grande Americano at this year’s Royal Rumble.

AEW Dynamite Viewership & Ratings Report, 6/3/2026

The stars of All Elite Wrestling are firmly on the road to the fifth annual Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 28, and the June 3 episode of “AEW Dynamite” saw two hours of action that fans are still buzzing about days after. Mercedes Mone made her long awaited return to the company in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Will Ospreay advanced to the final of the men’s tournament by defeating Mark Davis, and both MJF and Kevin Knight successfully defended their AEW Men’s World and TNT Championships against Rush and “Speedball” Mike Bailey respectively.

Despite all of that action, the show did take a knock in the TV ratings. According to Wrestlenomics, with data provided by The Programming Insider, the June 3 episode of “Dynamite” averaged a total of 638,000 viewers, a 9% drop from the previous week which broke the 700,000 mark. However, this week’s average is 2% above the trailing four week average of 623,000, 3% below the average of last year’s second quarter, and does not include those who streamed the show on HBO MAX.

The biggest hit came in the 18-49 demographic as “Dynamite” posted a 0.11 number, marking a 27% drop from the 0.15 posted last week. This week’s number is also 8% below the trailing four week average of 0.12, 29% below the same quarter in 2025, and 39% the month of June from last year.

One of the big reasons for this was game one of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, which dominated the ratings on ABC. However, with the NBA no longer on cable, “Dynamite” actually performed well in the prime time cable rankings despite the lower numbers, placing third for the night behind “Gutfeld!” on FOX News and the college softball world series on ESPN.
