WWE’s GUNTHER Says ‘Of Course’ He’d Like To Retire Brock Lesnar

GUNTHER has the unique feat of being the one current-day wrestler to retire three legends: Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles. While many assumed he’d be the one to put Brock Lesnar to rest, as well, “The Beast Incarnate” ended up hanging up his boots after losing to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42 — only to recently return, making Lesnar an option for GUNTHER once again.

“Yeah, if I get the chance, of course I’ll do it,” GUNTHER exclaimed during an interview on “Rompipallone” when asked whether he’d be up to retire Lesnar. “Who would turn it down?”

Despite his eagerness to step up to “The Beast Incarnate,” GUNTHER isn’t absolutely positive that he’ll get the opportunity to retire him. During a separate interview with “Italian Wrestling Channel,” he expressed doubt whether the clash will ever happen, and pointed out that he wasn’t even in the building the night of Lesnar’s feigned retirement at WrestleMania, and that he found out through news outlets the following day.

GUNTHER is currently focused on challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash in Italy on May 31. The event will also see a rematch between Lesnar and Femi.

Thekla Wants Raise For AEW Women’s Division In Exchange For Second Blood & Guts Match

In 2025, AEW hosted the first ever Women’s Blood & Guts match, which featured Mercedes Moné, Marina Shafir, Megan Bane, Thekla and The Triangle of Madness against Toni Storm, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Jamie Hayter, Queen Aminata, and Harley Cameron. During an interview on “The Sal Licata Show,” Thekla reflected the event, and what it would take for her to be interested in taking part in a similar match sometime this year.

“I still have a scar, like all across the side of my body here, yeah, I can still see it every time I’m showering and s***,” she recalled. “What was it like? Yeah, it was gory, it was crazy! I enjoyed it a lot, and it’s obviously – it’s a really cool thing to be part of; the first one.”

“We got to get a raise if we want to do this this year, as well, you know?” Thekla added, expressing that because the Blood & Guts match is as brutal as it is, the pay for it should be increased. However, while recalling how dangerous the match was, Thekla claimed she wasn’t afraid of any of the hardcore elements. She recalled having an “electric barbed wire death match” in Japan once after initially turning down the idea multiple times, but ended up enjoying the bout.

“Do I want to do it again? No. If you ask me three times, will I say yes? Probably!” she exclaimed.

Thekla added that there was one classic stipulation match she’d love to do someday.

“Oh, I would love to do an I Quit match!” she exclaimed. “That’s something I think could really be cool.”

AEW’s Tony Schiavone Reacts To News That Both Of Sting’s Sons Have Become Wrestlers

Two years removed from helping their father, Sting, in his retirement match at AEW Revolution, both Steven and Garrett Borden have caught the wrestling bug, with Steven working both the indies and AEW dark matches, while Garrett recently made his debut for Dustin Rhodes’ Rhodes Wrestling Association promotion. It remains to be seen just how far either Borden goes in the wrestling business, but the one thing that’s clear is AEW announcer Tony Schiavone couldn’t be happier to see them around.

On the latest “What Happened When,” Schiavone, who called many of Sting’s legendary matches in both AEW and WCW, was very strong on Steven and Garrett entering into the business. He did note, however, that it might be a bit tougher for the two of them than it was Sting, who Schiavone believes had the benefit of honing his skills by wrestling almost every day, whereas Steven and Garrett’s schedule will be far less severe.

“Well, I think it’s tremendous,” Schiavone said. “And I just…you know, their father wrestled at a different time, where you wrestled every night when he started. And you really hit the road. So these kids are learning their craft differently than their dad did. I think you learned your craft by wrestling repeatedly.

“But they’re getting a chance. Like, Garrett’s getting a chance down at Dustin’s chance. And of course Steven’s been wrestling for us. Both are just wonderful kids, and it’s not surprising because anybody that knows Steve Borden knows that Sting is a much better man than he was a wrestler, and he was one of the great wrestlers.”
