AEW Double Or Nothing 2026: Biggest Winners And Losers

Kyle O’Reilly has become Jon Moxley’s perosnal enhancement talent. He was given a few wins early in their feud, and now he seems to be the almost-ran of the AEW Continental Title Division.

This is one of the downsides to narrative convention. Jon Moxley needed to be humbled by O’Reilly, who beat Moxley by surprise, so that he had a reason to get better within the Death Riders, and now that he’s done the training, and put in the work, all that was left was to prove to O’Reilly that he won’t be fooled again. It’s a good story, and it was a good match, but it doesn’t change the fact that O’Reilly can no longer say he “looked good in defeat” or whatever else you usually say to salve these kinds of losses. No, he’s just a loser, for now.

There’s always time to rehabilitate him in this year’s Continental Classic, but that doesn’t change the fact that O’Reilly just doesn’t look like he will ever be able to overcome the obstacle that is Jon Moxley, now that Moxley has learned the lessons he was supposed to learn.

WWE’s Pat McAfee Announces Birth Of His Son

The McAfee family has added another golden bundle of joy to their family. Pat and his wife, Samantha, welcomed their son, Midas Robert McAfee, on May 22. In a post on X [formerly known as Twitter] Monday morning, the former WWE commentator and in-ring competitor described the difficult journey his wife went through throughout her pregnancy, while announcing a positive health update on their son.

“Please help @MrsMcAfeeShow, Mackenzie, and I welcome Midas Robert McAfee to our family,” Pat first announced in his post. “Due to Samantha having a high risk pregnancy and severe preeclampsia, the decision was made to have an emergency C-Section on Friday night. Baby boy officially entered the world on May 22nd at 10:42PM as a 6lb 6oz screaming young legend… 10 Toes, 10 Fingers, full head of hair.”

Later in the post, Pat describes what inspired him and his wife to settle on their son’s first name of Midas. Like all parents, the McAfee’s want their son to be effortlessly successful in everything that he touches/does.

“The name ‘Midas’ has been the name I’d hoped to name my baby boy, if I was to ever have kids, since my Freshman year of high school when Mrs Nonnenberg (RIP Legend) taught me about Greek Mythology,” Pat stated. “Like most, when you come from not a lot, the thought of everything you touch becoming gold was certainly an immediate draw for me but in this world that we live in, gold can only come from working your ass off, getting lucky, and having great folks around you. The name is perfect for the boy that Sam and I would like to raise. He will be an asset to society, he will treat folks right, and he will work his ass off to help his community achieve their own form of ‘gold.'”

Earlier this year, Pat was hopeful that his touch of helping Randy Orton conquer Cody Rhodes and become the 15-time world champion with the Undisputed WWE Championship would turn golden. Unfortunately, it fell flat (no fault of his own), costing him an unpopular standing amongst the WWE Universe, despite TKO’s (WWE’s parent company) assurance that his involvement would draw more viewers and ticket sales towards WrestleMania 42. Sticking to his promise, Pat announced his departure from pro wrestling officially this past April, ending his seven-year tenure with the WWE.

AEW Double Or Nothing 2026: 3 Things We Hated & 3 Things We Loved

As if Double or Nothing as an event wasn’t one of, if not the, best AEW events of all time, Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada wrestled what will undoubtedly be in the discussion for Match of the Year for the International title.

Okada and Takeshita were clashing as two rivaling members of the Don Callis Family, two that are argued as the greatest Japanese wrestlers of their generation, and were always going to deliver something adjacent to greatness at the very least. But when they did finally step up to the plate for a bout that was not just a semi-final in a tournament to be concluded later in the night, they left nothing unsaid or done with a story and a reason applied to every motion.

Okada started off cocky, unfazed by his opponent and any suggestion he was on his level. But soon enough he found cockiness to be complacency and fell victim to the sudden shifts that Takeshita is capable of. So he went brutal, stacking move after move and dropping him on the floor. He looked to go one step further with a Tombstone piledriver on the floor. But Don Callis, who had been on commentary for the match, said he didn’t want to see one of his assets damaged and put a stop to it.

Takeshita sealed his eventual fate with the next move, using that mercy to drop Okada to the floor with a vertical brainbuster and flipping off Callis. They still wrestled for a prolonged stretch even after that, avoiding one another’s killshots one-upping each other until Takeshita finally borrowed the Rainmaker for himself. He didn’t get the win with that move but he did get the win after an instant classic, celebrating in the ring for just a moment before his fate with the Family was set.

The group he co-founded gathered around him and looked to be turning on the new International Champion. But then Kyle Fletcher made his return at the perfect moment to band with Takeshita and save him for the night. Or so it seemed, embracing and raising Takeshita’s hand, before finally turning around and flooring him with a lariat.

Even with top quality match, a title change, a return, and a betrayal allocated to this one segment of the show, there was one more layer added; Okada went to pick up the title that he had called his, but Fletcher tugged it from him, eventually hitting Takeshita around the head with it to finish things off.

The drama will only continue to unfold and yield great matches, such is the marriage of superstars that is the Don Callis Family, and I am all the way here for it.

CM Punk Shows Bulked-Up Physique Ahead of Anticipated WWE Return

CM Punk Shows Bulked-Up Physique Ahead of Anticipated WWE Return

CM Punk is drawing attention ahead of his expected WWE return, as a recent fan-captured video suggests a noticeable physical transformation during his time away from television.

Punk has not appeared on WWE programming since the April 20 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he had a face-off with Cody Rhodes following WrestleMania weekend. His absence from TV has reportedly been due to scheduled time off rather than injury, as he was also removed from several advertised dates, including shows on the European Summer Tour and multiple June RAW events.

A video shared by a fan on X has now added to the conversation. The footage, which shows a gym setting, features Punk in the background looking visibly more muscular than he did during his last televised appearance. The most noticeable changes appear in his upper body, particularly his arms and shoulders.

While the clip is brief, it has quickly circulated online and led to speculation among fans about Punk’s preparation for an in-ring return. WWE has not confirmed any specific timeline for his comeback.

Despite the uncertainty, Punk is currently advertised for upcoming summer events, including a scheduled appearance on RAW on July 6 in Chicago. That date has become a potential target for his return, though no official announcement has been made.

For now, Punk’s status remains unchanged, but the new footage suggests he has been actively training during his time away from WWE television.

Nikkita Lyons Rumored for WWE RAW Call-Up This Summer

Nikkita Lyons Rumored for WWE RAW Call-Up This Summer

Nikkita Lyons is reportedly being discussed for a potential move to WWE’s main roster, with a new rumor suggesting she could be headed to Monday Night RAW in the coming months.

According to a report from Rope Break, Lyons’ name has come up internally as a possible call-up this summer. The report notes, “One name that was mentioned recently for a potential call up to the main roster this summer is none other than Nikkita Lyons, with some suggesting that she would move from NXT to Monday Night RAW. We’re working to try and get more on this, however for the the time being, we will be treating it as a rumor until we can get something more concrete.”

Lyons, whose real name is Camille Wyatt, has been positioned as one of the more prominent young talents in WWE NXT over the past few years. Branded as the “Future Of Wrestling,” she has received consistent television exposure when healthy.

Her momentum has been affected by multiple injuries. In October 2022, Lyons suffered a torn ACL and meniscus that sidelined her for an extended period. She later dealt with another knee injury in mid-2023, further delaying her progress. Despite those setbacks, she has returned to regular appearances and remains part of NXT programming.

A potential call-up would place Lyons among several recent NXT names moving to the main roster. Blake Monroe, formerly known as Mariah May, was recently brought to SmackDown. Sol Ruca made her RAW debut on May 18 in a featured segment with Becky Lynch, while Nikki Blackheart has already appeared in a dark match following her signing.

If the move happens, the timing would align with WWE’s usual post-Money in the Bank and pre-SummerSlam 2026 window, when roster changes are often made.

For now, Lyons’ status remains unconfirmed, with the report emphasizing that discussions are ongoing and not finalized.
