AEW Star Chris Jericho Appears As A Waiter In NFL Team’s Schedule Release Video

On Thursday, all 32 NFL teams unveiled their 2026 regular season schedule, and in the Minnesota Vikings official video for their upcoming season, AEW star Chris Jericho made an appearance.

NFL schedule reveals have become a creative event over the years, with each team presenting their own video that showcases the matchups for the 18 week season. For the Vikings schedule release video, Jericho stars as a waiter who is serving kicker Will Reichard, who is viewing the menu that lists the opponents that Minnesota will play this year. After 17 dishes are shown representing each opponent for the Vikings, Jericho is seen again at the end of the video helping Reichard with his takeout bags.

Having originated from Winnipeg, Canada, Jericho didn’t grow up an American football fan, but his wife of 25 years, Jessica Lockhart, was a longtime Vikings fan and eventually convinced “Y2J” to support the team. Today, Jericho is often seen attending Vikings games at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has previously been featured on the team’s broadcast.

Jericho returned to professional wrestling this past April when “AEW Dynamite” came to Winnipeg, and later this month he’ll compete in his second pay-per-view match since coming back when he participates in the Stadium Stampede Match at Double Or Nothing. For most of last year, Jericho was rumored to return to WWE for a possible retirement run, but ultimately the 55-year-old chose to stay in AEW, with company President Tony Khan confirming that he signed a multi-year contract.

Report: CM Punk Removed From WWE Raw Dates & European Tour Due To ‘Schedule Change’

WWE fans in Europe are eagerly anticipating the arrival of some of the biggest stars the company has to offer for an extensive European tour to kick off the summer, and CM Punk was set to be a big part of that tour. However, Punk was recently removed from the promotional material relating to a large portion of the European tour, leaving fans to wonder when they might see the “Straight Edge Superstar” next.

Fortunately, there isn’t anything serious to worry about according to Dave Meltzer, who wrote in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the reason Punk was pulled from the majority of the tour was down to a scheduling change. Punk is still listed as a featured superstar for the June 22 episode of “WWE Raw,” which takes place at The O2 in London, England and will act as the go home show before the Night of Champions Premium Live Event, but that is still subject to change considering that The O2’s official website still has Punk listed as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

In the middle of WWE’s European tour, the company will make a brief stop back in the United States for the June 15 episode of “Raw” which Punk is still advertised for, as well as the June 12 and 19 episodes of “WWE SmackDown” which Punk is not listed to appear at. The tour will begin on May 28 with a house show in Liverpool, England, which will quickly be followed by an episode of “SmackDown” in Barcelona, Spain on May 29, and then the Clash In Italy Premium Live Event in Turin on May 31. The tour will continue throughout the month of June (aside from the aforementioned pitstop back in the US), culminating in the Night of Champions Premium Live Event on June 27 in Saudi Arabia. WWE will be back on American shores on a full-time basis in July as the company begins the journey to WWE SummerSlam 2026 at the beginning of August.

Backstage Details & Speculation Regarding AAA TripleMania 2026

Equivalent to WWE’s annual springtime event of WrestleMania, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide is preparing to make history with its first-ever two-night Triplemanía event this fall. Under the WWE banner for the second time since its acquisition last April, the king of shows will be held on Friday, September 11, and Sunday, September 13. And according to “Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select,” some backstage plans have been revealed on where night one of this highly anticipated event will take place from this year.

Based on sources close to Fightful Select, it appears there’s “heavy speculation” backstage that night one of Triplemania 34 will be held in the United States. As of this writing, there was no specification on where exactly it will be held from in the States. More information on that will be revealed soon. However, the festive card of night two will emanate from Mexico City, Mexico, at the Arena CDMX.

It’s interesting to point out that originally, WWE and AAA had called for this year’s Triplemania to remain a one night event in Mexico on Saturday, September 12. But with a number of WWE stars expressing interest in working with AAA, they’ll be able to create more showcase exhibitions. Speaking of this partnership, now that its surpassed its one-year anniversary since joining forces, there have been discussions to integrate more AAA stars into WWE programming to help expand its reach. As most have seen, AAA stars have made cameo appearances on WWE’s weekly flagship programming sporadically, including having them participate in annual special contests such as this year’s Royal Rumble and the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

For the first time in WWE history, the AAA Mega Championship was defended on “WWE Raw” this past Monday by the self-proclaimed “King of the Luchadores” and current champion, Dominik Mysterio. He emerged victorious against the Original El Grande Americano.

Jeff Cobb Reportedly Visited NJPW Following Recent WWE Release

On the same day that it was announced that New Day had been released from WWE, two other Superstars were also released. MFT’s JC Mateo (Jeff Cobb) and Tanga Loa were also cut. Cobb left NJPW to come to WWE and has reportedly visited NJPW since his release.

In the latest issue of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Cobb was backstage at Wrestling Dontaku. “I believe he still has a place in Japan. Unless WWE gives his special dispensation, he would not be able to return in time for G-1 if he does end up here, as the non-compete ends on 7/24.” Meltzer points to NJPW’s financial issues as a reason that Cobb may not re-sign with them. He could sign with AEW like The Dogs did, but “the reality is his chances of going to AEW as a star were much higher one year ago. WWE often enhances someone’s value, but Cobb would not be one of those people.”

Cobb debuted with WWE at Backlash 2025 when he helped Solo Sikoa during his match. In NJPW, he was a member of Untied Empire. Cobb was a multi-time champion including three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion (twice with Great-O-Khan and once with current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Callum Newman) and NJPW World Television Champion. That reign ended shortly before his WWE debut.

Jake Paul Says He Can’t Get Involved In Logan’s WWE Matches Due To TKO ‘Beef’

Jake Paul is currently striving to excel past being viewed as merely an online influencer and more as a serious professional boxer and figurehead behind Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). However, his maneuvers have led to reactions from TKO and its subsidiaries in UFC and WWE. According to Jake, his involvement with MVP has made it so he can’t be in his older brother’s corner in WWE for the foreseeable future. Despite the trouble, he enjoys what he describes as playful banter between himself and TKO.

“I don’t take any beefs too serious. I think it’s definitely in the name of entertainment; however, there is truth in it,” the 12-2 professional boxer said on “Smash Cast.” “From my side, I’m just having fun. The fact that one of the biggest organizations in the world, the TKO group, has this major beef with me, they won’t even let me go be in my brother’s WWE matches because they hate me so much. And so it’s pretty wild, how much under their skin we are. … I enjoy s*** talk. I like when people make fun of me. I’m easy to make fun of. I’m able to make fun of myself.”

It’s worth noting that Paul’s MVP company was already in existence by the time he made an appearance at the 2022 Crown Jewel premium live event, but WWE and UFC had not yet merged. According to Dave Meltzer on “Wrestling Observer Radio,” he reached out to hear if Paul was, in fact, banned from WWE involvement, but the company did not comment.

Jake has a big weekend ahead of him, as his promotion will host its first-ever MMA event, which will be headlined by Gina Carano versus Ronda Rousey this Saturday evening on Netflix. Over in WWE, Logan is currently in his first reign as one-half of the World Tag Team Champions with Austin Theory.
