TNA Thursday Night Impact Results 5/14 – X-Division Title On The Line And More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live coverage for “TNA Thursday Night Impact” on May 14, 2026, coming to you live from the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California!

Cedric Alexander of The System was previously unsuccessful in dethrone Leon Slater as X-Division Champion at TNA Rebellion on April 11. Tonight, he will challenge Slater for the title once again in what will mark Slater’s first defense since then. In the event that Slater retains his title tonight, then he will break Austin Aries’ 298 day reign tomorrow to become the longest reigning X-Division Champion of all time.

Mike Santana is set to make an appearance on tonight’s show, but he will also find out who his next challenger for the TNA World Championship is with a Number One Contenders Battle Royal set to also take place. Santana looked to select his next challenger during last Thursday’s episode of “Thursday Night Impact”, but TNA Director of Operations Daria Rae interrupted him to make it crystal clear to Santana that he had no say in his opponents under her watch.

Although they may have formerly tagged with one another as First Class, tensions between AJ Francis and KC Navarro have been on the rise over the course of the last couple weeks. Tonight, they look to put their issues to rest once and for all as they collide in a Sactown Street Fight with MLB Sacramento Athletics Announcer Chris Caray taking a seat at the commentary desk for the match. Navarro currently holds a win against Francis from the April 16 episode of “Thursday Night Impact”.

Allie and Rosemary will be joining forces with one another to take on The Diamond Collective’s Victoria Crawford and Mila Moore. With The Diamond Collective having their sights set on Allie and Rosemary after being trapped in the Undead Realm, the latter two women and Mara Sadè previously scored a victory against Tessa Blanchard, Crawford, and Moore on the April 30 edition of “Thursday Night Impact”.

Additionally, Léi Yǐng Lee will be making an appearance on tonight’s show after dethroning Arianna Grace as TNA Knockouts World Champion last Thursday to become a two time titleholder.

Dana White Encourages UFC Fighters To Unionize

Dana White said that he would encourage UFC fighters to unionize as the topic of fighter pay once again reared its head.

There’s been many a high-profile name to come out of UFC negotiations and say they failed due to a disparity on financial terms, including the likes of Ronda Rousey for her comeback fight with Gina Carano, but also former UFC Heavyweight Champions Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou as they were the defending champions. The topic came up again when White, through Zuffa Boxing, signed Conor Benn to a one-fight $15 million deal, and when White appeared on “The Breakfast Club” he was quizzed by Charlamagne “Tha God.”

“How do you justify being worth millions of dollars, but some fighters still need second jobs?” Charlamagne asked.

White said he was sure there were basketball and baseball players that still need second jobs, and explained that fighters are brought in on a $10,000 plus $10,000 or $15,000 plus $15,000 payscale.

“You might last one fight, you might not be great, but as you start to prove yourself – and, you know, listen there’s always going to be talk about fighter pay. I’m in boxing now and all these guys, these boxers are signing with us now too. So you’re always going to be criticized about something.”

He was then pressed on why unionization is villainized by the promotion, to which White said it isn’t.

“We don’t act like it’s the enemy,” he said. “If the fighters wanted to unionize, that’s up to them. It’s not up to me.”

He was then asked point blank if he would encourage fighters to unionize.

“Sure,” he said. “Listen, we always have to deal with somebody. Could be a manager, an agent, you know, everybody’s gotten into this. Some of the biggest lawyers in the world have gotten into this.”

Khamzat Chimaev’s Body Failed Him At UFC 328, According To His Brother

Despite claims that Khamzat Chimaev actually missed the 185 pound weight limit and that the UFC outright lied so they didn’t have to postpone the fight, Artur revealed some extra details that prove not only did his little brother make weight, but that he legitimately put his health at risk trying to make weight.

“The doctor checked him and asked him to wait, to let him come to his senses. We checked the pulse and started again. I was not there, but I stayed in touch during the process. Lack of oxygen. Failure of the body. Night and morning. They started at nine in the evening and worked until the moment he stepped on the scales. By the fight, he gained literally 5-6 kg. When the fight with Strickland was announced, the training process began, he lost 3-5 kg in general, two weeks before the fight he weighed 97 kg.”

Artur confirmed that Khamzat did almost lose consciousness on the day he was supposed to weigh in, but that he was cleared by the doctors after taking some time to compose himself. Fortunately, Chimaev won’t have to worry about cutting that amount of weight again as he told Dana White after the loss that he is never fighting at middleweight again, and wants to move up to light heavyweight permanently.

MLW Set To Revive TV Show After 3 Years

For many years, the slogan of MLW was that the world of MLW never stopped moving. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened to the promotion in 2026, at least as far as being on TV goes. Though MLW has continued to hold tapings throughout the year, most recently in Chattanooga, Tennessee last weekend, they have yet to air any tapings on TV, streaming, or the internet in 2026, leaving many wondering just what is going on.

But an answer may be coming, even though the details on it are scarce. Fightful Select reports that MLW is set to revive their former TV show, “MLW Fusion,” later this year. As noted, no other details were provided in the report, including when it would return and whether it would air on TV or elsewhere, though it was stated that details on “Fusion’s” return were “imminent.”

After relaunching in 2017 following a thirteen year hiatus, MLW created “Fusion” as the promotion’s flagship TV show, debuting it in January 2018. “Fusion” aired on beinSports, before eventually being streamed on YouTube as well starting in the fall of 2020, after MLW took a several month hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the next few years, MLW would add three more broadcasting partners to broadcast “Fusion,” including Fubo Sports, which aired “Fusion” from 2020 to 2021, Pro Wrestling TV, whom MLW reached an agreement with in October 2022, and Fite+/TrillerTV+ in 2023.

At the end of 2023, however, MLW decided against continuing “Fusion” for another season, and instead holding two tapings per month that would air as major events over TrillerTV+ or as free specials on YouTube and beinSports. In late 2025, however, MLW hinted they were giving up that format in favor of bringing back “Fusion,” and in fact held a “Fusion” tapings on January 29 and March 14. Another “Fusion” taping is set for June in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Jacy Jayne Push Accelerates As WWE Adjusts Creative Plans After SmackDown Debut

Jacy Jayne Push Accelerates As WWE Adjusts Creative Plans After SmackDown Debut

Jacy Jayne’s early run on WWE’s main roster is already leading to internal changes, with new details indicating that creative plans in the women’s division are being adjusted following strong crowd reactions.

According to WrestleVotes Radio, multiple people involved in the creative process have said plans have been rearranged to feature Jayne more prominently. While specific changes have not been outlined, the internal response to her first few appearances has reportedly placed her on a faster trajectory than originally planned.

Jayne, a former two-time NXT Women’s Champion and former TNA Knockouts World Champion, has been positioned against top-level competition immediately following her call-up as part of the Fatal Influence faction. Alongside Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, Jayne has been featured heavily across the last three weeks of SmackDown.

Her main roster debut took place on the April 24 episode of SmackDown. Fatal Influence interrupted the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match involving champions Brie Bella and Paige, as well as challengers Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Later in the show, Jayne faced WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley in an impromptu non-title match, which ended in disqualification after Henley and Reid interfered.

Momentum continued to build on the May 1 episode of SmackDown, where Jayne scored a major singles victory over Charlotte Flair. The win came after Henley disrupted Flair’s Figure Eight submission, allowing Jayne to capitalize and secure the result with her Rolling Encore finisher.

The following week, on May 8, Fatal Influence picked up another significant win in a six-woman tag team match. Jayne, Henley, and Reid defeated Ripley, Flair, and Bliss, with Jayne pinning Bliss after outside distractions shifted the momentum. That same segment also featured Jade Cargill aligning with B-Fab and Michin, as they attacked the opposing team at ringside.

Fatal Influence was originally formed in NXT in July 2024, with Jazmyn Nyx as part of the group before being replaced in the current lineup. During her time in NXT, Jayne held the NXT Women’s Championship twice, accumulating a combined 288 days across both reigns.

Her transition to the main roster was confirmed following her final NXT match at NXT Revenge, where she competed in a triple threat against Lola Vice. Based on early reactions and internal feedback, Jayne’s role on SmackDown appears to be expanding quickly as WWE continues to adjust its creative direction.
