Matt Hardy Recalls Advice Given To Him By Late WWE Hall Of Famer Eddie Guerrero

Most of the wrestlers who worked with Eddie Guerrero have stories to share about their time with the late WWE Hall of Famer, often highlighting his generational charisma or his mind for the industry. Matt Hardy is among those who wrestled Guerrero, and appearing on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Hardy revealed some surprising yet important advice that “Latino Heat” once passed down to him.

The two were given the task of working together through a series of live events despite the fact that both men were heels at the time. Guerrero advised that the two of them just start wrestling to see who the crowd naturally gets behind, and then they would set up the match so that individual was the babyface.

During one of the matches, Guerrero brought Hardy down to the mat with a submission hold. When the crowd didn’t immediately respond and instead grew quiet, Hardy tried to move to another spot, but Guerrero told him to stay put.

“I start [saying], ‘Do we need to come up, Eddie? Don’t you think we need to come up? Because I don’t want the crowd to get bored,'” Hardy said. “He said, ‘No, just stay here.'”

After the match, they got to the back and Hardy thanked Guerrero for the guidance, noting that he was still getting used to the heel role and what it entailed. According to Hardy, the key piece of advice he received from Guerrero was regarding Hardy’s fear of the crowd getting antsy.

“This is one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever gotten. He said you have to bore the crowd, to a degree,” Hardy continued. “You’ve got to stop, you’ve got to let them breathe, you’ve got to let them reset. Because the crowd can’t maintain that pace, and you see a lot of that in today’s day and age of wrestling.”

WWE NXT Star Reveals What It’s Like To Take Signature Move From Oba Femi

With Oba Femi becoming one of the most powerful stars in WWE today, being on the receiving end of the moves in his arsenal can’t be easy. Femi’s Fall From Grace and One-Handed Backbreaker are nothing short of devastating, but a current “WWE NXT” star claims that he never looks forward to another move that “The Ruler” performs.

Speaking on “The Rich Eisen Show,” NXT North American Champion Myles Borne reflected on taking a Pizza Toss from Femi, stating that it was one of the most painful signature moves he’s ever endured.

“Oba hit me with the Pizza Toss, and you know I’ll take pretty much anything,” he said. “Once we’re live I’m game, but when he picked me up for that Pizza Toss, I got no choice. I’m in the air. There’s nothing I can do. And he just lets you go … that bump right there, it’ll knock the breath out of you. I took it once and I remember I hit and I just immediately I lost my breath and I just rolled out. I just rolled from the live show. I don’t even know where we were, but we were on a we were on a tour and I just rolled out and I said, I’m done, that’s it.”

The Pizza Toss is similar to Brock Lesnar’s F-5, with the main difference being the height of the high-impact shoulder toss. At NXT Heatwave 2024, Femi famously delivered a Pizza Toss to former WWE star Wes Lee, who went viral due to how high he was thrown in the air.

AEW Dynamite & Collision Viewership & Ratings Report, 5/6/2026

AEW presented a three-hour block of television, complete with two hours of “AEW Dynamite,” followed by an hour of “AEW Collision,” on Wednesday, and despite a slight decrease in viewership for “Dynamite,” the show still ranked ninth on cable for the night, according to new reports.

According to Wrestlenomics, with data from Programming Insider, the “Dynamite” portion of the night, which saw AEW World Champion Darby Allin successfully defend his title against Kevin Knight, drew 590,000 viewers, down just one percent from the previous week’s 596,000. The show earned a 0.10 rating in the ever-important ages 18-49 demographic, up 25 percent from the 0.08 rating earned by the April 29 edition of the show.

As for “Collision,” which usually airs on Saturdays on TNT rather than TBS, where it aired Wednesday, the show drew 429,000 viewers and earned a 0.07 in the ratings. According to Wrestlenomics, the show was #16 for the night on cable. “Collision” viewership was up 24 percent from the previous week’s 347,000 viewers, when it aired in its usual timeslot on Saturday, and up 17 percent from the previous episode’s 0.06 rating.

The night saw former AEW World Champion MJF finally get his rematch awarded to him by Allin at Double or Nothing, with MJF’s hair on the line. MJF stormed down to the ring following Allin’s victory over Knight, and earlier on the show, Kazuchika Okada told Allin that he’d be seeing him in the ring for the gold on next week’s edition of “Dynamite.” In the main event of “Collision,” The Young Bucks and the Bang Bang Gang defeated the Death Riders and The Dogs in 10-man tag action.

WWE Backlash Results 5/9 – Two Titles On The Line, Seth Rollins Faces Bron Breakker

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live coverage for WWE Backlash on May 9, 2026, coming to you live from the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida at a special start time of 6 PM ET!

Roman Reigns will be putting the World Heavyweight Championship on the line for the first time since dethroning CM Punk at Night Two of WWE WrestleMania 42 on April 19 as he defends against Jacob Fatu. Despite being family members, Fatu threw out the challenge to tonight’s match on the April 20 episode of “WWE Raw” as Reigns was flanked by his cousins Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso. Reigns subsequently chose to accept the following week on the April 27 episode of “Raw” following a verbal confrontation between the two men that ended in Fatu leaving Reigns laid out with several headbutts and a submission hold.

After being dethroned as United States Champion by Trick Williams at Night Two of WWE WrestleMania 42 on April 19, Sami Zayn will have the chance to win the gold once again as he challenges Williams for the United States Championship. With Williams previously having mocked Zayn by calling him a gingerbread man, Zayn disguised himself in a gingerbread costume on the April 24 episode of “WWE SmackDown” to crack a candy cane across Williams’ spine. Zayn brought back the gingerbread man on the May 1 episode of “SmackDown”, leaving him laid out with an attack in the ring, forcing medical officials to escort him to the back, and Williams to host a funeral for him on the May 8 episode of “SmackDown”.

Since being kicked out of The Vision a few months ago, former leader Seth Rollins has vowed to seek his retribution on the group and has had his eye on Bron Breakker. Tonight, Rollins will have his chance to do so when he goes head-to-head with Breakker. With Breakker having left Rollins laid out with a spear on April 20 in the midst of a brawl between Rollins, The Vision, and The Street Profits, Breaker and Rollins once again came face-to-face in a verbal confrontation on April 27 during which Rollins threw out the challenge to tonight’s match as a means for Breakker to prove that he’s a main event player.

Former friends turned foes IYO SKY and Asuka will be colliding with one another in a grudge match. Although SKY answered a Women’s Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge that Becky Lynch had issued on April 27, Asuka ensured that SKY would not become the new titleholder by costing her and leaving her laid out in the ring with a kick and the Asuka Lock in the moments that followed the title match.

Danhausen will be joining forces with a mystery tag team partner to take on The Miz and Kit Wilson. With Danhausen shown to have broken into The Miz’s house for a day of fun on the April 24 episode of “SmackDown”, The Miz and Wilson looked to try outsmarting Danhausen on May 1 by leaving a briefcase of baby powder to spray out at him under the guise of being free money. While Danhausen ultimately was the one to outsmart the pair by making actual money appear and having the baby powder spray into The Miz and Wilson’s faces, The Miz and Wilson got their retribution later that same night by having The Miz pretend to choose if he would align with Wilson or Danhausen so that they could attack him in the ring.

Additionally, John Cena will be making an appearance on tonight’s show after promising on his X page that he has some history making news to share with the WWE Universe.
