Lei Ying Lee Regains TNA Knockouts Title After Win Over Arianna Grace On Impact

For the second time in her career, Lei Ying Lee is the new Knockouts World Champion, following Thursday’s main event match on “TNA iMPACT,” ending Arianna Grace’s 61-day reign.

In the early goings of the bout, the former champion stayed on Lee. She hit a superplex from off the top, and to her surprise, it wasn’t enough to keep the former one-time champion down. However, the tide switched, when Lee connected a flurry of punches, kicks, and a spear to Grace. Lee would counter Grace’s crossbody into a thunderous body slam, only securing a two-count. Lee took Grace for a spin with her Warrior’s Way, but Grace’s fiancé Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo put Grace’s foot on the bottom rope to end the pin count. The referee saw this right away, and eliminated Lorenzo from ringside. Then, in the closing moments, Lee flew off the ropes with an impressive neckbreaker, securing her second championship reign.

Entangled in multiple contests for the championship, the former champion unseated Lee to begin her unruly run at the No Surrender pay-per-view event this past February. Prior to tonight’s defeat, the former liaison of “WWE NXT” and TNA defended and retained against other stars outside of Lee, including Jody Threat, Xia Brookside, and former Knockout Dani Luna. The Knockouts World Championship was the first title Grace has held so far in her professional wrestling career.

Conor McGregor Eyeing Third UFC Title In A Different Weight Class

Conor McGregor is a former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion, even holding both titles simultaneously at the end of UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden in 2016. However, it’s been nearly a decade since “The Notorious” Irishman held gold, and he’s eyeing up another belt in another weight class upon his return.

This Saturday will see Khamzat Chimaev defend the UFC Middleweight Championship against Sean Strickland at UFC 328, and in his own way of promoting the fight, McGregor took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to say good luck to the two men who are fighting over, what he calls, his belt.

Not only has McGregor never fought at middleweight in his life, but him teasing a move up to 185 pounds goes against the recent reports that he is returning to the cage at UFC 329 during International Fight Week to face Max Holloway, a fight that would certainly not be at middleweight given Holloway’s size. With that said, if McGregor does come back and try his hand at winning a third title, he would become the first fighter in UFC history to become a three division champion, but he might have to settle for second place as Alex Pereira has the chance to take that glory for himself at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14.

John Cena Says Backlash Announcement Will ‘Shock the Foundation of WWE’

John Cena Says Backlash Announcement Will ‘Shock the Foundation of WWE’

John Cena says his upcoming announcement at WWE Backlash 2026 will “shock the very foundation of WWE.”

Cena officially confirmed earlier this week that he will appear at Backlash in Tampa on Saturday after previously teasing that he had “history-making news” planned for the event.

John Cena Backlash announcement teased

On Thursday, Cena posted a video to social media from outside Benchmark International Arena, the venue hosting Backlash, where he hyped the significance of what he plans to reveal.

“WWE Universe, hey, John Cena here, standing in Thunder Alley, outside of Benchmark International Arena in Tampa Bay.”

Cena then claimed the announcement would affect every level of WWE.

“In just a few days, I have a major announcement inside this building that is gonna shock the very foundation of WWE, from its fans to its superstars, from its champions down to its rookies.”

He continued by thanking Tampa for hosting the event and encouraging fans worldwide to tune in.

“I’m so grateful that Tampa is allowing me a place to make this announcement.”

“Thank you, WWE. See you live on ESPN in the States and Netflix around the world, but don’t miss Backlash. I’m so excited, and I’ll see you there.”

Cena initially hinted at having “something epic” planned for Backlash in a social media post on April 23, even before WWE officially announced him for the premium live event.

The website for Benchmark International Arena later advertised Cena for the show on May 3, and Cena publicly confirmed his appearance the following day.

At this point, WWE has not revealed any details regarding the nature of Cena’s announcement, leading to heavy speculation among fans online.

Backlash is scheduled for Saturday night in Tampa and will feature multiple major matches, including Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu.

Cena’s appearance is now expected to be one of the biggest talking points of the event regardless of whether he wrestles on the show.

TNA Slammiversary And AEW Forbidden Door Avoid Direct Clash

TNA Slammiversary And AEW Forbidden Door Avoid Direct Clash

TNA Slammiversary 2026 and AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 will not directly compete head-to-head despite both pay-per-views taking place on the same day.

Updated listings on Ticketmaster and the Agganis Arena website show that Slammiversary is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, June 28.

TNA Slammiversary and Forbidden Door schedule

Slammiversary will take place at Agganis Arena in Boston.

Meanwhile, Forbidden Door is set for later that evening at SAP Center in San Jose.

The current start time for Forbidden Door is listed as 7 p.m. Eastern and 4 p.m. Pacific, meaning the two shows will not overlap directly.

While the separation in start times helps avoid direct competition between the promotions, Slammiversary will still face significant sports competition that afternoon due to a FIFA World Cup second-round soccer match airing on the same day.

The scheduling situation arrives during a period of growing tension between TNA Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling.

Over the last month, friction between the companies reportedly increased after TNA pulled several talents from independent wrestling events that were also featuring AEW wrestlers.

During a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, TNA President Carlos Silva accused AEW of attempting to directly compete with TNA in several areas.

Silva claimed AEW had aired programming opposite TNA Impact and also alleged the company attempted to block TNA from running certain venues.

The issues reportedly intensified after an episode of AEW Collision was moved to Thursday night earlier this year due to NCAA March Madness scheduling conflicts, placing the show directly against Impact.

Despite the ongoing tension between the two promotions, fans will now at least be able to watch both major wrestling pay-per-views live on June 28 without having to choose between overlapping main cards.

The System Retains Tag Title Against Nic Nemeth & KC Navarro On TNA Impact

The System’s Bear Bronson and Brian Myers are still TNA World Tag Team Champions following a victory over “The Wanted Man” Nic Nemeth and KC Navarro on “Thursday Night iMPACT.”

Two weeks ago, Nemeth pinned Bronson in singles competition after Navarro supplied a distraction to the entire System stable. Tonight, Nemeth and Navarro then officially worked together in an attempt to dethrone them as World Tag Team Champions.

Navarro seemed close to victory when he planted Bronson with a DDT. Seeing his teammate’s predicament, though, Myers prevented Navarro from further capitalizing with a pinfall. Nemeth responded with a superkick that sent Myers flying to the outside and a crossbody that wiped out Eddie Edwards and Cedric Alexander.

Nemeth’s moment of triumph was fleeting as Myers then leveled him with a spear on the floor. Meanwhile, inside the ring, a leg pull from Alisha Edwards shifted Navarro’s attention, allowing Bronson to drop him with Bear Down for The System’s win and successful title retention.

Bronson and Myers captured the World Tag Team Championships at TNA Rebellion by defeating Matt and Jeff Hardy. Tonight’s “iMPACT” broadcast served as the platform for their first title defense.

Following Bronson and Myers’ victory, Eddie Edwards and Cedric Alexander called out X-Division Champion Leon Slater and former System member Moose for another tag bout. In this case, the existing System lost, with Moose picking up the win for his team by pinning Edwards. Next week on “iMPACT,” Slater will defend his respective title against Alexander in a two-out-of-three falls match.
