WWE SmackDown Ratings & Viewership Report: 4/24/2026

The “WWE SmackDown” after WrestleMania 42 seemingly didn’t get the rub-off effect from coming off “The Show of Shows,” as it fell in both overall viewership and the key demographic ratings.

The average viewership of the April 24 edition of “SmackDown” from the Dickies Arena in Texas dropped to 1,267,000 viewers, from the previous week’s 1,580,000, as per “Programming Insider.” That represents a 20% fall in viewership, while it was also 13% less than the four-week average which stands at 1,452,000, reports “Wrestlenomics.”

The 18–49 key demographic rating saw an even larger percentage decline from the previous week, falling from 0.42 for the WrestleMania 42 go-home show to 0.32, marking a 24% drop. Despite the fall, “SmackDown” was second in the ratings for primetime shows, behind the NFL Draft that drew ratings of 0.79 and 2.8 million viewers.

Last week’s “SmackDown” was centred around The Bloodline storyline, with Jacob Fatu the central figure of it on the Blue brand, coming face-to-face with his cousins, The Usos, before facing off against Solo Sikoa and his crew. Tiffany Stratton became the WWE Women’s United States Champion after defeating Giulia, Brie Bella and Paige retained their tag team titles against Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair after interference by Jacy Jayne. The rivalries between Danhausen and The Miz, and Trick Williams and Sami Zayn continued on the show, while Cody Rhodes remained defiant and addressed the crowd after successfully retaining his title against Randy Orton at WrestleMania.

Trick Williams Explains How Booker T Has Been His WWE Mentor

WWE United States Champion Trick Williams has discussed the influence that “WWE NXT” commentator and Hall of Famer Booker T has had on him.

Williams has been mentored by the legendary star ever since he joined WWE, and he recently discussed on “The Pivot Podcast” a few simple things Booker T has told him to make his character stand out on WWE television.

“Booker T, man, right away,” replied Williams when he was asked which legend he looks to for advice and mentorship. “And it’s cool, like, you know, he’s a legend in the game. WCW five-time champion]. So, you know, when you meet Booker T you don’t know how he’s going to feel. And he said, ‘Brother, you got something. I want to work with you. Hey, when you hit that move right there, you hit him with that kick, hold that pose and you flex your bicep so everybody can see how strong [you are].’ Little stuff like that, and like he’s just teaching you the game. I’m like, bro, this is the coolest thing ever. Like, I’m living a video game.”

Booker T has received some brickbats from his critics for his commentary work on “NXT,” but some stars have benefited from his support, with Williams and Stephanie Vaquer being some notable names who have acknowledged his impact on their character.

“So, Booker T has definitely been that guy, and he helped the ‘whoop that trick’ thing really set off. He did my ad-libs and everything, you know, like he’s MCing the track, you know, for the crowd or something like that. So that’s really cool,” Williams added.

This isn’t the first time Williams has credited the two-time Hall of Famer, having praised him in the past for the wisdom he has imparted.

Aljamain Sterling Re-Signed, Hopes To Retire With UFC

Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling picked up his second consecutive win at featherweight on April 25 when he defeated Youssef Zalal at UFC Fight Night 274. The win marks Sterling’s third win in four fights since moving up to 145 pounds, moving him up to fourth in featherweight rankings, and it seems as if that he will have plenty of time to work his way to the top of the division as he revealed on “The Ariel Helwani Show” that he recently signed a new deal with the UFC.

“I got a new deal with the company so I’m super happy about that,” Sterling said, revealing that it wasn’t until UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell called him that he realized his most recent fight was the last on his current contract. “It was odd because I thought I had two fights, and when he called me, that was the odd part because I was like ‘Why is Hunter calling me? Did I do something wrong? Did I say something that is going to come back to bite me in the a** right now?’ We talked and we had good conversation, and the main thing to take away from the conversation was if I want to be here or not. I told him like ‘Yeah dude,’ like I don’t know how it might come off and perceive to you but he kind of felt like maybe I didn’t. But I said no, this is–I would hope to retire with the company.”

Sterling went on to confirm that his new contract is either for five or six fights, with extra money included if he gets a title shot at some point in the future. Sterling did call out current UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski after his most recent win, with the “Funk Master” looking to become a two-divisional champion before he hangs up his gloves. Sterling also mentioned that the overall pay is “fine” and that an extra zero would have been nice to see, but he is grateful for what the UFC has done for him, and is looking forward to the final leg of his career.
