Liv Morgan Pins Stephanie Vaquer, Reclaims Women’s World Title At WWE WrestleMania 42

Liv Morgan is now a three-time Women’s World Champion after defeating Stephanie Vaquer at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Morgan lip synced to her new single, “Trouble” & performed with dancers for her entrance. Vaquer followed with a tsunami of red confetti.

The woman started brawling as soon as the bell rang. Vaquer launched Devil’s kiss and followed with a backbreaker before landing her opponent’s finisher, ObLIVion. Morgan’s Judgment Day stablemate, Roxanne Perez distracted ref so that Raquel Rodriguez could put Vaquer across the ropes for Morgan to connect with ObLIVion. Vaquer kicked out and landed a crossbody on Perez & Rodriguez. Morgan connected with a CodeBreaker &followed with ObLIVion for the win. Following the match, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio gave her the title and they celebrated in the ring with Perez and Rodriguez.

Morgan won this year’s Royal Rumble match in her ninth try to get a title shot at WrestleMania. She previously held the women’s title for 226 days. She is also a 4-time tag team champion.

John Cena Announces Attendance For WWE WrestleMania 42 Night One

John Cena announced the attendance for the Saturday opening to WWE WrestleMania 42.

Cena is hosting WrestleMania 42 in his first major involvement since retiring from competition with a submission loss to Gunther in December, and was tasked with announcing the much-speculated attendance for the second “Show of Shows” in two years.

Cena paid credence to the speculation surrounding ticket sales for the event before defending against that notion by talking up the amount of people in the building. And then he announced the final total: 50,816.

Last year’s WrestleMania Saturday saw an announced attendance of 61,467 while the Stadium Authority later reported the number to be 58,538. It has been common practice for WWE over the years to announce inflated numbers when compared to other sources.

The latest estimate from “WrestleTix” six hours prior to the announcement was 50,386 tickets distributed with a set-up for 51,708. WWE announced, via Pat McAfee, that WrestleMania Saturday was subject to a 25% off sale two weeks ago, the latest deal or discount package offered to push tickets for the event.

Bianca Belair Returns At WWE WrestleMania 42 To Announce Pregnancy

Bianca Belair made her return at WWE WrestleMania 42 to announce some exciting news: she and husband Montez Ford are expecting their first baby together. Belair made her way out to the ring, a smile on her face, singing along to her theme and dancing down the ramp after John Cena announced the attendance for night one.

Belair said the fans know they “can’t spell WrestleMania without EST.” She thanked them for the support, as she’s been out a long time. Belair said you also can’t have WrestleMania without a few surprises, so she told Cena she thought they needed to add one more.

That’s when Belair unhooked the large jacket she had worn down to the ring, exposing her baby bump to the delight of the crowd. Cena gave her a big hug as she caressed her bump and announced “the EST is having a baby!”

Belair has been out of action since suffering a broken finger joint at WrestleMania 41 in her triple threat match against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. She had undergone surgery to address the injury in February after undergoing extensive physical therapy at first, and had reportedly been training for an in-ring return as of March.

GUNTHER Chokes Out Seth Rollins With Help From Bron Breakker At WWE WrestleMania 42

“The Ring General” GUNTHER has made his career out of killing the careers of others, but whether he would’ve put “The Visionary” Seth Rollins to sleep without the help of Bron Breakker remains unclear. GUNTHER and Rollins took to WWE WrestleMania 42 for a first-ever clash Saturday, but in the middle of a gridlocked match, Breakker charged Las Vegas to give GUNTHER a helping hand, in the form of a Spear.

The early match goings were less-than-desirable for GUNTHER. GUNTHER struggled as Rollins raked at his eyes, tossed him into the barricade, threw chairs at him, and stuck two middle fingers at him — all before the bell had even rung. Once the match officially went underway, GUNTHER attempted to strongarm Rollins into submission, like he had to many veterans before, but Rollins’ rage carried him as he humiliated “The Ring General” with stomps to the face and a hard-hitting Buckle Bomb.

Things went from tense to ugly quickly. Chops were exchanged, Superplexes shook Allegiant Stadium, and Rollins tried for a Sleeper Hold of his own, only for each man to refuse defeat. Both men eventually went to the outside, where Rollins and GUNTHER attempted to put each other through the announce tables. Rollins laid out GUNTHER with a stomp before Allegiant Stadium’s hearts leaped into their throats. Rollins looked up, and was immediately Speared by a charging Breakker. From there, GUNTHER merely needed a solid Sleeper Hold to win the match.

Breakker was originally slated to be Rollins’ WrestleMania opponent, but was benched after he sustained a major hernia injury. Interestingly, Breakker has reportedly been cleared to compete since early April, but by then, plans for Rollins and GUNTHER were already in stone. It is unclear if Breakker’s interference is the start of the originally-planned Breakker/Rollins program, or if Rollins will continue to feud with GUNTHER post-WrestleMania.

Becky Lynch Beats AJ Lee At WWE WrestleMania 42 To Regain IC Title

Becky Lynch defeated AJ Lee to become a three-time WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion during WrestleMania 42 on Saturday.

Quite early on, Lynch sought to remove the top turnbuckle pad before referee Jessika Carr stopped her and put it back on. Lee continued to have the advantage from that point on until Lynch found her way through with spiteful offense, countering a Shining Wizard into a stiff high-stack powerbomb for a near-fall, then slamming her into the buckles and hitting the Manhandle Slam but only for a two-count.

Lynch started to get in the face of Carr and pushed her, which prompted Carr to push her back, and then Lynch went to strike her; Carr ducked, allowing Lee to connect with her own Manhandle Slam for a near-fall.

Lee countered another attempted Manhandle Slam into her Black Widow submission, but Lynch grabbed Lee’s hair to get out of the hold. Lynch went into the same corner as earlier and removed the pad. Lee charged at her, prompting Lynch to pull Carr into the path.

Lee stopped, allowing Carr to get out of the way, but in doing so gave Lynch the opportunity to yank Lee into the exposed buckle. From there, she connected with a second Manhandle Slam and got the academic pinfall to win the Intercontinental Championship.

Lee won the title from Lynch in their first-ever singles match at the Elimination Chamber event in February, and with Lynch winning the title back on Saturday their saga stands at 1-1.
