Title Match Booked For WWE SmackDown Ahead Of WrestleMania 42

The “WWE SmackDown” before the weekend’s WrestleMania 42 will feature a title match involving former WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.

The “SmackDown” and “Raw” before WrestleMania usually feature matches that couldn’t be accommodated on the ‘Mania card, and it seems like one of those matches will take place on the Friday night show. Stratton will face off against WWE Women’s US Champion Giulia in a title match, just a few weeks after the duo had faced each other in a non-title match. The match was made official on this week’s WWE “Main Event” show.

Stratton and Giulia have been in a feud for a few weeks, with the duo facing each other on the March 27 edition of “SmackDown” in a non-title match, where the latter emerged victorious, thanks to some help from Kiana James. Recent reports had hinted that a rematch could take place at “The Show of Shows,” which now doesn’t seem to be the case. Stratton herself addressed those rumors, confirming that she wasn’t told by WWE management about such a match happening at WrestleMania. Giulia has held the title for most of 2026, having won the title on the January 2 edition of “SmackDown.”

Also on the WrestleMania 42 go-home show will be an Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, while The MFTs will continue their rivalry with The Wyatt Sicks in an eight-man tag team match. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who recently trashed Pat McAfee’s studio, will also be on the show and will address his WrestleMania 42 opponent, Randy Orton.

2026 WWE Hall Of Fame Full Inductee List And How To Watch Tonight’s Ceremony

The 2026 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is set for tonight at Dolby Live inside Park MGM in Las Vegas, taking place right after SmackDown wraps up.

Fans in the United States can tune in at midnight Eastern or 9 pm Pacific on ESPN Unlimited, while international viewers can catch the event on YouTube. Michael Cole teams up with The Miz to host the evening.

Stephanie McMahon leads this year’s inductees, with The Undertaker handling the honors. Across more than 20 years in WWE, she became a central on screen authority figure while also holding roles such as Chief Brand Officer, Chairwoman, and Co CEO. She is also a former WWF Women’s Champion and has admitted she felt unsure about being worthy when first told the news.

AJ Styles joins the Hall of Fame following his retirement at the 2026 Royal Rumble, closing out a 28 year career. Known as The Phenomenal One, he captured multiple accolades including two WWE Championship reigns, along with achieving both Triple Crown and Grand Slam status. The Undertaker revealed the news of his induction during the February 23 edition of Raw.

Demolition, made up of Ax and Smash, are finally recognised for their dominance in WWE’s tag team division. The duo are three time Tag Team Champions and held the titles for a combined 698 days during their run between 1988 and 1990, highlighted by a record setting 478 day reign.

Dennis Rodman is this year’s celebrity inductee. The five time NBA champion stepped into the wrestling world during WCW’s peak, debuting alongside Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach 1997 and becoming a regular figure aligned with the nWo during the Monday Night War.

Sid Eudy, known to many as Sycho Sid and Sid Vicious, will be honoured posthumously in the Legacy wing. A two time WWF Champion and two time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, he passed away in August 2024.

Bad News Brown also enters the Legacy wing. Competing under his real name Allen Coage, he was a bronze medalist in judo at the 1976 Olympics before bringing that credibility to WWE in the late 1980s. He is also remembered for winning the battle royal at WrestleMania IV. He passed away in 2007.

The Immortal Moment Award recognises Hulk Hogan versus Andre the Giant from WrestleMania III, featuring the iconic bodyslam in front of a reported 93,173 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome. With this honour, Hogan becomes a three time Hall of Famer, while Andre is now a two time inductee.

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Ronda Rousey Addresses Pro Wrestling Future Following AEW Appearance

Ronda Rousey addressed her AEW Revolution cameo and what it could entail for her future in professional wrestling.

Rousey spent time with WWE on and off between 2017 and 2023, winning multiple Women’s Championships and becoming one of three of the first women’s WrestleMania main eventers, after suffering back-to-back knockout losses to Holly Holm and then Amanda Nunes to seemingly end her MMA career in 2016.

However, she will be returning to the cage for an MMA comeback against Gina Carano on May 16, and in the build to her fight played a brief cameo alongside best friend Marina Shafir opposite Toni Storm at Revolution.

“It was really, really fun because I got to be there to support Marina Shafir,” she said when asked about the cameo during the MVP Media Scrum on Wednesday. “It just happened to work out that it was her first pay-per-view match ever. I happened to be in town and I happened to have a fight coming up.”

Rousey said she reached out to Shafir and asked if there was any chance of the cross-over, and the timelines managed to align.

“It just happened to be that I could be there for a huge milestone for her and she goes out and she kills it against Toni Storm. Then I get to walk out and instead of being PG-rated WWE, I get to f*** off all the fans. It’s an incredible feeling, and to do it with my best friend in the whole world.”

She said that she thinks the only thing that could bring her back to pro wrestling were moments like that with her friends. “I don’t think I’ll be making any runs. But I could be making some run-ins,” she concluded.

AEW’s Renee Paquette Recalls When She First Fell In Love With Pro Wrestling

For more than a decade now, Renee Paquette has been one of the most popular personalities in pro wrestling, thanks to stints in both WWE and AEW as a commentator and interviewer. Paquette has been so natural in her wrestling roles that many have often wondered why she didn’t pursue more avenues outside of the wrestling business. As it turns out, that’s what she did before getting into wrestling.

On the latest of AEW’s “Who is..?” YouTube series, Paquette went through her origin story. Initially, Paquette tried to make as an actress, and even appeared in popular music videos such as Kelly Clarkson’s “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” before getting into hosting. That would then give way to her career in wrestling, and Paquette admitted that it was through that, and continuing to work in the industry, that ultimately led to her falling in love with the business.

“I fell in love with wrestling when I started working in wrestling,” Paquette said. “It was such a different perspective to cover professional wrestling and talk about wrestling on TV. But then, to actually work for a wrestling company and see, like, the belly of the beast, and see the way things worked?

“I think for me to understand and get that full respect for everybody that works in this industry, from top to tail, I think what’s really made me fall in love with it. Especially since I came from more of, like, an entertainment background. But I played a ton of sports growing up, so to see those two things come together, it’s a match made in heaven for me. I would not want to cover another sport. Like, this is the world that I’m meant to be in, and I love it. But I think it was actually doing it and getting to fall in love with it in real time.”
