Update on WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales

Update on WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales

WWE is still projecting a strong financial result for WrestleMania 42, even as discussion continues around ticket pricing and overall attendance.

Update on WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales

According to a source cited by Sports Business Journal, ticket sales have increased in recent weeks, with WWE expecting the event to rank among the highest-grossing gates in company history. The report followed a USA Today story that pointed to high ticket prices as a factor behind slower early sales at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Recent data from WrestleTix shows a clear rise in distribution. WrestleMania 42 currently stands at 42,715 tickets for Night 1 and 43,394 for Night 2. At the start of April, those figures were 38,381 and 40,003, marking an increase of more than 7,000 tickets across both nights in roughly two weeks.

Despite that growth, the event is still tracking behind last year’s pace. Dave Meltzer reported that ticket sales are down around 20 percent compared to the same point during the WrestleMania 41 build. He also noted that there was no major surge in sales following the storyline development that brought Pat McAfee into the feud between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

McAfee attempted to boost attendance by promoting a 25 percent discount for Night 1 tickets. However, Night 2 still outperformed Night 1 in sales over that same period, even as McAfee publicly discouraged fans from attending Sunday’s show.

WrestleMania 41 set a record as the highest-grossing event in WWE history, and WrestleMania 42 is taking place in the same venue for the second consecutive year. While the pace of ticket movement has differed, the recent increase suggests that demand is picking up closer to the event.

With continued sales momentum and pricing adjustments being explored, WWE remains confident that WrestleMania 42 will deliver a strong financial outcome, even if overall attendance trends differ from the previous year.

Stephanie Vaquer Reflects on WrestleMania Debut, IYO SKY Match and WWE Call-Up

Stephanie Vaquer Reflects on WrestleMania Debut, IYO SKY Match and WWE Call-Up

Stephanie Vaquer spoke on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, discussing her upcoming WrestleMania 42 debut, her match with IYO SKY, and her journey to WWE’s main roster.

On heading into her first WrestleMania while defending the WWE Women’s Championship, Vaquer reflected on how quickly things have come together.

“Yeah, I remember, one year ago, I was in the WrestleMania arena. I saw all the arena, and I said, one day I really want to be here. But in that moment, I never think I can do that so fast. This year, I’m not just there with the title, I’m with my WWE Women’s Championship. So it’s amazing. It’s more than my dream.”

Vaquer also looked back at her title win at Wrestlepalooza, which came under difficult circumstances. She revealed that illness nearly kept her from competing, even after missing a previous opportunity at Clash in Paris.

“This is amazing, because that’s a long history. Before Wrestlepalooza, [it was] supposed to be I go to Clash in Paris. I was really, really sick, so they cancel my participation in Clash in Paris. I’m so, so sad. So after, WWE said, Don’t worry, we have iced the story for you. Wrestlepalooza is a big event; it’s the first Wrestlepalooza, so I’m excited. One week before, I get sick again, I feel sick again. So medical say, Okay, I’m sorry, but you can’t go to Wrestlepalooza. I already have the ticket, the flight for my dad and everything and like that. That was so hard in that moment, but I talked with Triple H, and I talk with many people in WWE and say, ‘No, I’m ready. I’m not sick. I feel good. I can do that. Please just let me go, I can do that.’ Finally, I was there, and that was amazing, because it’s not just Wrestlepalooza, big event with IYO SKY, my dad was there and my dream that Women’s World Champion.”

Her match with IYO SKY at Wrestlepalooza received strong reactions, and Vaquer spoke about the respect she has for her opponent.

“I really enjoyed that a lot, because I respect IYO so much. She’s amazing. She’s really so professional. I really enjoyed that match. It was an amazing match. I always say, I’m not just the Women’s World Champion, I won with IYO SKY, the best, one of the best in the world. So it’s like, for me, it’s really special. I respect IYO SKY so much. I remember after that show, many people say, Yeah, you really make that show amazing, because that match was the more important match that day. I remember Randy Orton saying you and IYO made Wrestlepalooza, because that was the best match.”

She also explained why their in-ring chemistry worked so well.

“I don’t know. I think maybe because I trained in Japan. So I know the Japanese style and language. Not perfect, but we can have good communication, and we can understand the style. We have many, many things in the same style. So I think for that reason, we can have really good chemistry in the ring.”

Vaquer then discussed her transition from NXT to the main roster, admitting she initially had doubts.

“I remember because when I was in NXT, I love NXT. I felt at home. I remember many people say, okay, many people are waiting for you on Raw, on main roster, but at the same time Shawn Michaels is like, we need you here, and we want you here. At the same time, I want to stay here, but I want to go to main roster. In that moment, I didn’t feel very good, because I’m still learning, and my English was not good. Now it’s better, not perfect, but better. Sometimes I feel like, no, I need more time. But at the same time no, I talked to myself and okay, I need to be brave and just do it. So I feel good, because people on Raw and main roster made me feel so good. Made me feel at home too. Many different challenges and big challenges.”

Vaquer is set to defend her championship at WrestleMania 42, marking a major milestone in her career as she continues to establish herself on WWE’s biggest stage.

CM Punk Criticizes Pat McAfee’s Role Ahead of WrestleMania 42

CM Punk Criticizes Pat McAfee’s Role Ahead of WrestleMania 42

CM Punk has addressed Pat McAfee’s growing presence in WWE storylines, making it clear he does not agree with how McAfee has handled his role heading into WrestleMania 42.

Speaking with Matt Barnes on All The Smoke, Punk drew a firm line between generating attention and driving actual business. He suggested that McAfee, while effective in media, has overstepped within the wrestling environment.

“Wrestling has always, sometimes to a fault, embraced people that we believe can get eyeballs on a product. Eyeballs on a product and people actually investing and buying tickets are two wildly different things. Pat was a wrestling fan who became famous outside of the bubble and was afforded an opportunity to be invited in. Somewhere along the line, he forgot that he was a tourist. To me, that can easily be rescinded. Pat is great at what he does. Pat is not great at what we do. Cody is going to handle it. Poor Cody has to deal with this guy. When he disrespects the business and he says something out of pocket, he’s going to get checked and he’s going to get checked by me. You can’t be running your mouth about ticket sales when you’ve never sold a ticket in your life. I would prefer to not have to deal with Pat, but we’ll see what happens. I don’t think Pat realizes the dangerous things he’s doing,” Punk said.

McAfee was inserted into the WrestleMania 42 main event storyline on the April 3 episode of SmackDown. During that segment, he attacked Cody Rhodes and was revealed as the mystery caller aligned with Randy Orton. His follow-up promo focused on WrestleMania ticket sales, placing blame on Rhodes.

Punk responded on the following RAW, where he pushed back on McAfee’s comments and called for WWE to lower ticket prices. As previously reported, Punk’s remarks during that segment were not part of the original plan.

As noted, there are currently no restrictions on WWE talent regarding comments about McAfee or his involvement in ongoing storylines. This has allowed performers like Punk to speak openly about the situation both on television and in outside interviews.

Punk is set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the Night 2 main event of WrestleMania 42 on April 19. Meanwhile, McAfee is scheduled to be in Orton’s corner when Orton challenges Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the Night 1 main event on April 18.

With tensions continuing to build, the situation involving McAfee remains a key talking point heading into WWE’s biggest event of the year.

AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 Date And Location Announced, CMLL & STARDOM Involved

I am not one of those people who holds their nose up at Forbidden Door and think its an unnecessary event. I’m not only happy to see its still on AEW’s calendar, but I’m really happy to see it back in June. Last year’s show taking place in August made sense because All In was in July, but the show coming so soon after the G1 Climax, and the CMLL/Stardom involvement still being minimal, made it hard for the show to feel like Forbidden Door. Moving it back to June this year and strengthening CMLL and Stardom’s presence should go a long way to giving Forbidden Door the feel of a massive, cross promotional event.

Of course, the onus now is on AEW and New Japan to deliver it, something I feel they haven’t done with the last two Forbidden Doors. Don’t get me wrong; both the 2024 and 2025 incarnations of the event were very good, maybe even great, but they didn’t have the same feel as 2022 and 2023, especially when the 2024 show was headlined by an all-AEW event and much of the 2025 show felt like AEW vs. AEW matches. I can see that on any other AEW PPV; I shouldn’t be seeing it at Forbidden Door. So if I’m AEW, New Japan, CMLL, and Stardom, I’m looking to rectify that this year. Forbidden 2026 shouldn’t follow the same template as 2024 and 2025, but instead should look to capture the spirit of Forbidden Door 2022 and 2023, and make this feel like a true cross promotional extravaganza.
