Swerve Strickland Responds To AEW EVP With Major Challenge

Following his victory over Brody King at AEW Revolution on March 15, Swerve Strickland is the top contender to the AEW Men’s World Championship. However, Strickland’s quest to prove that he was the most dangerous man in the company was prevented by a returning Kenny Omega, which has led to Strickland wanting something to go along with a potential second run with the world title, power.

During the March 18 episode of “AEW Dynamite,” Omega issued a challenge to Strickland for a rematch from their bout in February that ended with Strickland putting Omega in the hospital. Omega challenged Strickland to put his top contenders spot on the line as he hoped it would put an end to their already personal feud, but Strickland decided to up the ante. Strickland came to the ring and proclaimed that he wants Omega’s power, and by power, he meant that he wants to Omega’s spot as an Executive Vice-President in All Elite Wrestling.

Strickland has already taken the EVP titles away from The Young Bucks following his and Will Ospreay’s victory over Matt and Nick Jackson at AEW All In Texas 2025, but now he wants the role for himself. As for when that match will take place, AEW President Tony Khan made the match official for the March 25 episode of “Dynamite” in St. Paul, Minnesota. The winner of the match will not only be able to state their claim of being an EVP in AEW, but they will be next in line to challenge MJF for the AEW Men’s World Championship. With the Dynasty pay-per-view coming up on April 12, both men will want the victory as the event will take place in Omega’s home country of Canada, while Strickland has headlined both previous Dynasty shows, winning the AEW Men’s World Championship at the inaugural show in 2024.

WWE Hall Of Famer Says He Owes His Whole Career To The Late Eddie Guerrero

The late, great Eddie Guerrero helped propel the careers of several stars during his time in WWE, and one Hall of Famer who has credited him entirely for his career is JBL.

Guerrero had several phenomenal rivalries in his legendary WWE career, none as memorable as his with JBL. In a recent appearance on The Undertaker and Michelle McCool’s “Six Feet Under” podcast, JBL was asked whom he would want to face if he could have one more match in his career. He named Guerrero without skipping a beat, saying he was responsible for his entire career.

“Give me one more match with Viva La Raza. Just one more match with Eddie. And give Ron in my corner. Straight up, oh my god, no DQ, absolutely not because I want Eddie to be as creative as possible. No DQ, no rules, no nothing. Ron can get involved. Ron can do commentary or whatever Ron wants to do,” he said. “Eddie Guerrero not only made me, Eddie Guerrero gave me the angle that not only made me, but took the title off himself. So my whole career I owe to Eddie. I’m putting that man over for you.”

JBL, who has time and again lavished praise on Guerrero, said that he would want the late star to win the hypothetical match between them. The veteran star had previously recalled how his JBL character hadn’t taken off at first and wasn’t a hit with fans, but all that changed when he was paired with Guerrero. Guerrero not only helped JBL in the ring but was also supportive in his personal life, helping him navigate a divorce.

Ronda Rousey: UFC’s Hunter Campbell ‘P****ed Off The Wrong B****’

Ronda Rousey has taken aim at UFC’s Chief Business Officer, Hunter Campbell, while reacting to the latest addition to the Carano-Rousey MVP card in May.

The event on May 16 will be headlined by Gina Carano and Rousey’s respective returns to MMA, as well as Francis Ngannou against Philipe Lins in the co-main event. And then on Monday it was announced that Nate Diaz and Mike Perry had joined the UFC alums on the card for their own first-time fight.

Welcoming them to the fold for MVP – Jake Paul’s promotion – and its first MMA event, Rousey called it a revolution against the establishment. That goes in line with what she had said at the press conference for the event, believing that UFC had gone downhill and was no longer the premier place of work in the sport.

“Welcome to the revolution Nate Diaz and Mike Perry!! It’s the fighters vs. the establishment – and we’re gonna win!” Rousey wrote on X. “P.S. Hunter Campbell p****ed off the wrong b****, I’m coming for your job motherf****er.”

It’s unknown what Rousey’s exact issue with Campbell is, but since he serves as UFC’s primary matchmaker and Dana White’s number two, one could assume it ties in with the break-down in negotiations for Rousey to return to the company.

Rousey had said she was in talks with UFC about staging the fight with Carano with the promotion, but they could not meet financial terms under the new streaming model with Paramount+.

UFC’s Daniel Cormier Nearly Quit ‘Russian Ultimate Fighter’ With Jon Jones Over Knife Brawl

Daniel Cormier was on the verge of quitting a Russian reality TV show, ALF MMA, with Jon Jones after things took a dangerous turn.

Earlier this year, Cormier and Jones served as coaches on ALF MMA, a Russian reality show much in the same vein as UFC’s “The Ultimate Fighter” series, with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz serving as coaches in the past.

The third episode of this season released on Tuesday, and things went pear-shaped when two fighters with pre-existing issues came face-to-face and started brawling. That fight set off more fighting, and one named Sergei, trying to break up one of them, got caught in the cross-fire and resorted to grabbing a kitchen knife.

“We’ve seen a few fights since we’ve been here, and this was by far the biggest fight,” Cormier said. “Sergei’s so mad, because now he has a cut under his chin, that he runs into the kitchen, and he wants to grab a knife. Because all he’s thinking about now is protecting himself. It was very intense.”

“I think we’re gonna go home,” Cormier spoke with some of his team after the fight. “I might give them their money back and stay home. I can’t do this s***. It’s too much. Somebody’s going to get hurt bad… I didn’t know it was like this. It’s really bad… I don’t know if I can do this. Tell them this is too much. I might not be able to do this.”

In a bit of a surprise twist, Jones played peacemaker and addressed the participants, letting them know Cormier’s stance and telling them to straighten up.

“At the end of the day, Daniel Cormier is a big star in America,” Jones said of his long-time rival. “This competition, we’re all on the same team. I know you guys have real conflicts, but ultimately, our goal is to make good TV… Nothing on this show is worth losing your life, whether that’s in the ground or in jail.”

Jones’ words managed to turn things around, and neither man left the show.
