Cris Cyborg Shuts Down Idea Of Ronda Rousey Match-Up: ‘I Would Hurt Her’

Cris Cyborg has dismissed the idea of her and Ronda Rousey settling their issues within MMA.

Rousey is due to return to the sport against fellow veteran Gina Carano on the MVP promoted card streaming on Netflix on May 16. And speaking ahead of that event in a press conference she re-ignited her feud with Cyborg, another veteran, by calling her a “roided-up b****.”

Naturally that prompted Cyborg to respond, only serving to stir up further conversation about whether she would be interested in finally fighting Rousey, given that one between them never materialized while they were both with UFC.

“I have one fight left in my legacy tour before retirement which will be this summer with the PFL,” Cyborg responded to the idea via X. “At this point Ronda is well past her prime… Even if Ronda beats Gina she’s not ready for competition at my level.”

She added, “I love seeing Netflix get into MMA but Ronda is so far past her prime that a fight between us would be a mismatch. I haven’t lost in seven years. 9-0 in MMA and 7-0 in boxing. She was KO’d her last two fights and has been retired 10 years. It’s best to let her fight a 44 year old Gina who’s been retired if she’s going to make a comeback. I would hurt her.”

Cyborg’s current record stands at 29-2 – with a single no contest – heading into what she says will be her final bout this year, having held the Invicta FC, Strikeforce, UFC, Bellator, and PFL Featherweight titles throughout her career.

Rousey has a record of 12-2, having sustained back-to-back losses in UFC to lose and fail to recapture the Bantamweight title. She was the last Strikeforce Bantamweight title as the promotion was acquired by UFC in 2012, and got inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.

WWE HOFer Booker T Reacts To Ronda Rousey’s AEW Arrival

This past Sunday, Ronda Rousey made a surprise debut at AEW Revolution, coming to the aid of her friend Marina Shafir against Toni Storm. The appearance came as a shock to many, including WWE’s Booker T, who discussed her arrival on his “Hall of Fame” podcast.

“Breaking news, breaking news! Ronda Rousey is back!” Booker T said, crediting Rousey for her contributions to women in UFC. “Look, Tony Khan’s trying to move the needle, any way possible.” Booker then theorized that Rousey’s agent reached out to Khan and made the deal happen, which the veteran notes is something the AEW President likely jumped at the moment he heard it.

“You know what? I can’t hate on her,” Booker added, referencing Rousey’s controversial WWE exit. “I’m not pleased about some of the statements that she made, as far as wrestling goes, but people are going to be people. I can’t hate on Ronda Rousey coming back and getting a payday from Tony Khan.”

Booker went on to explain that Rousey isn’t a social media influencer nor an in-demand actor, so her options for income are likely limited at the moment. Additionally, he pointed out that everyone has bills and athletes often make far less than fans assume. “Everybody need money – Ronda Rousey need money!” he added. “Hopefully, she’ll change her ways and understand that this second time around could be the most precious one.” Still, Booker doesn’t see Rousey sticking in AEW for longer than a year, opining that there’s nothing for her to do in the promotion beyond capturing the top belt.

In addition to any potential AEW appearances, Rousey is scheduled to return to MMA with a fight against Gina Carano on May 16, 2026, for which she’ll likely be paid a substantial sum.

JBL Hopes The Best For DiBiase Family Amid Welfare Fraud Trial: ‘Heartbreaking’

Over the last few years, the story surrounding Ted DiBiase and his sons, Ted DiBiase Jr. and Brett DiBiase, hasn’t been their wrestling careers, but their involvement as defendants in the ongoing Mississippi welfare funds scandal and trial. And the story has gotten even more focus in 2026 after the trial of Ted Jr. began in January, with the defense now set to present their case after the prosecution rested.

Through it all, the DiBiase’s have gotten very little public support from those in the wrestling business. But that changed this week thanks to WWE Hall of Famer JBL. Appearing on “Something to Wrestle,” JBL and co-host Conrad Thompson received a fan request asking for their thoughts on the DiBiase welfare trial. While he acknowledged the DiBiases could have done something wrong, JBL otherwise offered full support for both Ted and Ted Jr..

“It’s heartbreaking, cause I love all of them,” JBL said. “I only know Ted’s wife a little bit, but I know Ted very well. I know Ted Jr. pretty well. He did a lot of stuff with us on ‘The JBL and Cole Show.’ I was around him a lot. Look, they’re wonderful people. I have no idea what happened, and I don’t care. They’re my friends, and I love those guys.

“And it’s heartbreaking for me, and I hope that it ends well for them. And look, I understand there’s repercussions to everything you do, and people can take this out of context. I don’t care. Those are my friends, I love them, and I hope something, whatever the best is for these guys, it works out that way.”

Jacob Fatu Hopes His Life Story Motivates Others: ‘Wake Your A** Up And Go Get It’

“The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu might be a part of the Anoaʻi pro wrestling dynasty, but before he entered the world of pro wrestling, Fatu was arrested for robbery at the age of 18. Fatu previously credited his cousins, The Usos, for changing his life after he saw them on television during his jail sentence. In an interview with TVInsider, Fatu was asked about his past and how he’s been using it to change lives, describing the feeling as life-changing on its own.

“You can do anything. I know people hear it all the time, but you can do anything you put your mind to,” he advised. “There are going to be days where you are wanting to give up, or you don’t want to deal with life. If nobody tells you, I’m going to tell you. Wake your ass up and go get it!”

Fatu expressed that he never thought he’d be in the position he is in today, and that he ultimately made it due to the many people in his life who supported him as well as his faith. “If you have a bad day, I just learn to smile because you woke up today. Tap into yourself and people will accept you for being yourself,” he added.

The former WWE United States Champion’s uncle, Rikishi, has notably praised Fatu on many occasions, even (wrongly) predicting that he’d main event WrestleMania, but identified just how far he’s come. Amid his prediction, Rikishi recalled that Fatu was once on EBT – electronic benefit transfer food assistance – but today, he travels all over the world and feuds with many of the biggest WWE stars.
