Seth Rollins Medically Cleared To Compete, Gets Attacked By GUNTHER On WWE Raw

Gunther returned during “WWE Raw” to establish a WrestleMania 42 feud with Seth Rollins, coming to the aid of Paul Heyman.

Heyman had taken to the ring for a promo segment addressing the supposed vendetta towards him and the Vision by General Manager Adam Pearce, prompting Pearce to come out and respond. The GM told Heyman that the charges had been dropped against Rollins for his in-storyline arrest last week, and went further to say that he had also been medically cleared for competition.

A scared Heyman was then approached from behind by a masked Rollins in the ring, unmasking and clattering the manager with a steel chair shot. He set up Heyman on the chair, presumably for a stomp onto it.

Only for Gunther to make his return and cinch in a rear choke on Rollins, pushing him up against the announcer’s desk as Rollins flailed about looking for an escape. As he passed out, Gunther pointed to the WrestleMania sign. Pearce later made the match official in a backstage segment addressing the attack.

It’s not yet clear whether that means Gunther is a part of the Vision or being represented by Heyman moving forward. Gunther was last seen beating Dragon Lee at the beginning of this month, having initiated another legend-hunting feud with currently injured Rey Mysterio.

He had retired both John Cena and AJ Styles ahead of that, lending to the idea that he would be facing Mysterio in the next match of that grain at WrestleMania. Now he will be facing Rollins, another veteran that likely won’t be retiring against the “Ring General,” even if stranger things have happened.

Penta Defeats Kofi Kingston, Retains WWE Men’s Intercontinental Title On Raw

Penta is walking in to WrestleMania 42 as Intercontinental Champion after a victory over Kofi Kingston on “WWE Raw,” followed by a ladder match challenge for the “Showcase of the Immortals.” Penta put out an open challenge for Monday’s edition of the red brand on social media that was answered by Kingston.

The men traded fast-paced offense in the opening minutes of the match, until Kingston nailed Penta with a DDT. Penta quickly got back on his feet and hit Kingston with chops. The challenger attempted a move off the top rope, but Penta caught him with a Codebreaker.

Kingston dodged a Penta Driver and the fight rolled on. Kingston hit a back body drop to Penta on the apron. As Grayson Waller tried to interfere, Kingston tried to shoo him away. Back in the ring, Kingston hit the SOS, but it wasn’t enough to put Penta away. The challenger knocked Penta out of the ring and flew over the top rope, but Penta caught him and slammed him onto the commentary desk before hitting a Mexican Destroyer to Waller.

Penta was caught off the top rope with a Trouble in Paradise but still managed to kick out. Kingston then looked for a superplex, but Penta sent him crashing face-first onto the mat and hit a Mexican Destroyer for the win.

After the match, Penta announced that he had spoken with “Raw” General Manager Adam Pearce. He revealed he would be defending his title in a ladder match at WrestleMania 42.

Two New Matches Added To WWE WrestleMania 42 Card

We’re less than three weeks away from the biggest show of the year and the card is still coming together with two new matches added.

It was announced via a video package that Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio is now official for WrestleMania. Mysterio and the Judgment Day turned on Balor and kicked him out a few weeks ago. Balor returned and cost Mysterio in his rematch for the IC title.

After defeating Kofi Kingston on “Raw” to retain the title, Penta announced he will defend the Men’s Intercontinental Championship at “The Show of the Immortals”. It will be contested in a ladder match, which he called “his kingdom”. Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported that there would be a series of qualifying matches to determine who will be in the ‘Mania match, but Michael Cole later announced that the qualifying matches had already occurred on “WWE Main Event,” announcing the competitors as Penta, Dragon Lee, Rusev, Je’Von Evans, and JD McDonagh.

WrestleMania 42 will emanate from Las Vega, Nevada over two nights on April 18 and 19. Earlier on Monday, John Cena announced that he’ll be making his WWE return to host the event.

Roxanne Perez Returns To WWE Raw, Assists Liv Morgan In Fight With Stephanie Vaquer

Roxanne Perez made her return during “WWE Raw” to aid Liv Morgan in attacking Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer.

Perez has been out of action for the past two months after revealing she had surgery to remove a benign mass on her back, returning after Morgan had came out and laid into her upcoming WrestleMania opponent.

Morgan had said something derogatory about Vaquer’s mother in Spanish during her solo promo segment, prompting the Women’s World Champion to come out and initiate a fight in the ring. Vaquer got the better of Morgan and went to grab a steel chair, then being attacked by the returning Perez and turning the segment into a two-on-one mugging.

When all was said and done, Morgan stood with Perez with the Women’s World title belt held aloft to close the segment.

Morgan will be challenging for Vaquer’s title at WrestleMania 42 after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble for the first time in January. She will be attempting to capture her third WWE Women’s title against Vaquer, who has been champion in her first reign since September.

Another WWE Women’s Tag Title Match Ends In Chaos On Raw As Multiple Teams Interfere

The Irresistible Forces, Lash Legend and Nia Jax, are still WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions after yet another women’s tag match ended due to interference, this time on the red brand. Legend and Jax retained over Bayley and Lyra Valkyria on “WWE Raw.”

Legend and Bayley started off the match and Legend overpowered the challenger. Bayley and Valkyria both fought to take the champions off their feet, and succeeded after Bayley hit a suicide dive to Jax, sending her into the commentary table, and they dumped Legend over the ropes on the other side of the ring. Jax was back in control of the match after a break, however.

She hit Valkyria with a Samoan Drop, but Valkyria countered a vertical suplex from Legend with a DDT. Bayley hit an elbow across the back of Legend’s neck, but was taken out by Jax. Jax looked for the Annihilator, but Bayley got to her feet and hit Jax with a powerbomb. Valkyria hit a moonsault to Jax, but Legend broke up the pin.

As a flurry of offense from both teams left all the women laid out in the ring, the Bella Twins strode down the ramp, followed by Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. They started arguing on the outside and Valkyria got out of the ring to tell them to knock it off, and Jax sent her flying into Flair and Bliss before she and Legend beat down the Bellas.

Flair and Bliss jumped in the ring to attack the Irresistible Forces, causing the disqualification, and all the teams proceeded to beat up the champions before arguing with one another in the ring.
