Bret Hart Reacts To Bad News Brown WWE Hall Of Fame Induction

Bret Hart has reacted to the news that Bad News Brown will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class, and his response offered both respect and honesty about their complicated history.

The induction of Bad News Brown, real name Allen Coage, was confirmed last week ahead of WrestleMania 42 weekend. During an appearance with Studio 1 Sports, Hart learned about the honor in real time and shared his thoughts.

“You know, I didn’t know that he got inducted. So that’s news to me,” Hart said. “I’m always happy for him. You know, to me, he’ll always be a Stampede wrestler , one of my dad’s guys. Bad News was maybe not my closest friend, but I always had a respect for him. He was a pretty intense guy. Like, he was not a stupid man. He was a pretty well-educated, disciplined guy and was really, I think an honorable guy. He was the kind of guy I would say never told a lie in his life, you know, that kind of thing. He always spoke his truth.”

Hart went on to reflect on Brown’s legitimate athletic background, noting his Olympic success in judo before transitioning into professional wrestling. Brown built his reputation through stints in Japan, Stampede Wrestling, and WWF, bringing with him a physical, no-nonsense style that stood out from many of his peers at the time.

That style, however, also created challenges inside the ring. Hart explained that Brown’s approach leaned heavily on toughness and realism, rather than the storytelling psychology he preferred.

“He was very limited. Like, you couldn’t hit him in the head,” Hart said. “He was very touchy about what you did to him. And he was not the kind of guy you could mess with. He was a very tough man , arguably maybe one of the toughest men that ever put on a pair of boots in pro wrestling. A legitimate badass, tough guy that was more than capable of fighting anybody.”

Despite their differences, Hart made it clear he respected Brown’s presence and credibility. He described him as fearless and someone who never backed down, regardless of the situation. When Vince McMahon was considering bringing Brown into WWF, Hart even supported the move, though he advised against pairing them together due to their contrasting in-ring styles.

That advice ultimately went unheeded, as the two shared the ring in the closing moments of the WrestleMania IV battle royal, which Brown went on to win.

Hart also addressed how Brown was perceived by some within the industry, noting that his outspoken personality led to mixed opinions. Still, Hart emphasized that he valued Brown’s honesty and authenticity, even if it sometimes created friction.

Brown passed away in 2007 at the age of 63 following a heart attack. His induction into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 places him alongside names such as Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, Demolition, Dennis Rodman, and Sid Vicious.

Hart himself remains one of the most decorated figures in Hall of Fame history, having been inducted individually and as part of The Hart Foundation. His WrestleMania 13 match with Steve Austin was also honored last year as the first bout to receive a Hall of Fame induction.

WWE HOFer Says Ted DiBiase Jr. Could Return To Wrestling, Would Get Babyface Reaction

After years of uncertainty, former WWE star Ted DiBiase Jr. is finally in the clear regarding the Mississippi welfare scandal, having been found not guilty on all charges. While most in the wrestling business have stayed away from commenting on the situation, WWE Hall of Famer JBL hasn’t been one of them, expressing support for both Ted Jr. and his father, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase.

So it was no surprise that JBL was over the moon when co-host Conrad Thompson brought up DiBiase Jr.’s not guilty verdict on “Something to Wrestle,” saying he was “absolutely thrilled” before taking shots at those who assumed DiBiase Jr.’s guilt. But the conversation took a hard left turn a few minutes later, when Thompson asked JBL if this could all possibly lead to DiBiase Jr. making a wrestling comeback. And JBL didn’t close the door, despite the fact that DiBiase Jr.’s been inactive from wrestling for nearly a decade

“I think the odds…I think around 40%,” JBL said. “Just slightly under a coin flip, just slightly under 50%. I don’t think it probably happens, but I think there’s a chance it could. I think there’s kind of a groundswell. I think Ted would get a huge babyface reaction, you know, coming out having bene acquitted of all charges.

“I know people out there won’t believe it…that’s their prerogative if that’s what they want to do. But I think he’d get a huge babyface reaction. I don’t know…I don’t know how much of the mainstream wrestling audience would be following this. Obviously the hardcore people are, people that are in the news, people that know Ted obviously are. I don’t know that, so that’s why I put it slightly under 50%. But I’d love to see Ted come back and do something.”

AEW & ROH Wrestler Set To Hit Free Agency At Midnight As Contract Expires

AEW has a stacked women’s roster, as does ROH. Many of the talent travel between the two companies, which is a huge benefit for both the wrestlers and the fans. Unfortunately, AEW and ROH will be down one very talented and underutilized woman at midnight.

Fightful Select recently reported that Lady Frost’s contract comes up on April 1. It was reiterated to them again today that when her deal expires at midnight, she will be a free agent. The report states that there are already companies interested in her. Frost has wrestled for CMLL, TNA, and NWA. She also has one match in WWE.

Following the initial report of her contract coming up, Frost posted a video introducing the vision for her character and how she wants to be portrayed.

During her time in AEW/ROH, she had a ROH Women’s World Title Eliminator match against Athena and also had an AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator match against “Timeless” Toni Storm. She last competed on “Collision” in January in a losing effort to Mina Shirakawa. Her last ROH match came on Zero Hour at Supercard of Honor against Diamanté. Last spring, she competed multiple times in CMLL alongside Taya Valkyrie where they competed in a tag team tournament. Former UFC Fighter Diego Sanchez Sentenced For Felony Shooting

Former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez was sentenced to five years of supervised probation after firing a gun into the air while in traffic.

Albuqerque news outlet “KOB4” reported that Sanchez had pleaded guilty in February to a felony charge after his July 2025 arrest near I-40, where prosecutors said he had fired the gun while passing a crash.

In court, Sanchez contested that he had never intended to hurt anyone and it was supposed to be a joke. He added that he was already going to Turning Point Recovery Center and taking new medicine for a bipolar diagnosis.

“People do make mistakes, you know. This is Albuquerque, the wild wild west, I made a bad mistake,” Sanchez is quoted in the report.

Prosecutors were said to have been pushing for two years custodial with the argument that firing a gun in traffic on a freeway was dangerous.

“The defendant has shown reckless actions when he shot the firearm out of the car window. He has demonstrated negligence as noted in the PSR and the inability to safely and lawfully operate a firearm,” state prosecutor Genia Gonzales is quoted.

Defense attorney Max Pines is said to have told the court that his client had made progress over the last several months, including treatment for mental health and substance abuse. Sanchez also said that he is staying sober and working on his mental health.

Sanchez has a 30-14 record in MMA having won the first-ever season of “The Ultimate Fighter” to earn a contract with UFC. He spent 15 years in the promotion before departing in 2020, fighting just the once since for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC in 2022. He is also a UFC Hall of Famer through his 2009 fight with Clay Guida, getting inducted in 2019.
