Bully Ray Comments On Whether Oba Femi Should Beat Brock Lesnar At WWE WrestleMania

Bully Ray is convinced that Oba Femi has to win in his first clash with Brock Lesnar at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Ray, on “Busted Open,” said that if Lesnar is unsure about losing to the former NXT Champion, like he and Paul Heyman were about Braun Strowman, the face-to-face with Oba Femi over the last two weeks and the reaction it has generated from the crowd should ease those fears.

“With what we saw over the past two weeks, does Oba Femi need to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania? Is getting over going to be enough? Does Oba need to go over?” asked Ray. “Oba is part of the future of this roster and this company. It ain’t going to hurt Brock Lesnar to lose. And if Brock is on his way out, I don’t think it’s going to affect that last match, if that last match is against Gunther, blah, blah, blah, blah. I think they should put Oba over.”

Ray played devil’s advocate and argued that WWE could be apprehensive about Femi winning if they believe they are force-feeding him to the audience, which he doesn’t think is the case. With reports suggesting that Lesnar could retire later this year, Ray stated that the match against Oba Femi should signal that “The Beast Incarnate” is nearing the end of his career and that Lesnar’s staring at his “wrestling mortality” after the clash.

Ray, who commended Lesnar’s understanding of the business, is adamant that Oba Femi has to win the match and even went as far as to demand WWE put over Femi in the match.

“Come on, WWE, take a chance. Show some b**ls,” he said. “You did what you did over the past two weeks. Why? So you could give Oba a little bit on the front, because he’s really gonna lose on the back? I’d go ahead and do it again in the Garden next week.”

The WWE legend pondered how the match between Femi and Lesnar could pan out — whether it would be a quick finish or stretch to 10 minutes, with both stars bringing out their best.

WWE’s Bianca Belair Has Reportedly Begun ‘Light Training’ For Return To The Ring

Chris Jericho Says AEW Pursued WWE’s AJ Styles, Speculates On His Next Move

Chris Jericho has lauded his former WrestleMania opponent, AJ Styles, and disclosed that AEW once tried to sign him.

Styles called time on his career after his match at this year’s Royal Rumble. Many believe that Styles has still a lot to offer in the ring, which he could have done in AEW, as per Jericho, who disclosed in an interview with “GamesHub” that AEW had interest in signing him.

“There was a time when we were going after him when his contract was up,” revealed Jericho. “Could he be a good fit [in AEW]? Of course he would be. AJ’s a great performer and a great guy. But there is something to be said for the fact that when you’ve worked in the Vince McMahon system for a long time, you think differently. There are ways WWE runs their company, and there are ways AEW runs theirs. I’m not going to speak for AJ, but I don’t know why you’d retire in one place and then immediately go somewhere else.”

Styles has reiterated several times since his last match that he is done as an in-ring performer, but some, like Bully Ray, believe there’s no chance that his in-ring career is over. Jericho holds a similar view, stating that “The Phenomenal One” could join AEW and wrestle for Tony Khan.

“That said, I’m sure it’s always a possibility,” added Jericho.

Styles reportedly had several opportunities to join AEW, as per Dave Meltzer, and it seems that he has no interest in joining Khan’s promotion. Veterans like Ray and Jeff Jarrett think the former WWE Champion could wrestle again, with the former pitching a dream match in AEW and the latter stating that Styles is only out of the TKO orbit and will likely continue to wrestle. However, it seems that Styles has other plans as reports indicate that he has signed a new deal with WWE following his retirement, and will mentor and train future stars.

Jim Ross Calls For Sable To Enter WWE Hall Of Fame

Jim Ross Calls For Sable To Enter WWE Hall Of Fame

Jim Ross has weighed in on the ongoing discussion surrounding Sable’s absence from the WWE Hall of Fame, making it clear he believes her omission is a major oversight and warning that time may be running short to include her in an upcoming class.

Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked about the topic following comments made by Marc Mero during an appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s show. Ross agreed with the sentiment, though he acknowledged that the decision ultimately lies with WWE leadership and, in his view, Brock Lesnar. While referencing past decision-making, Ross mentioned Vince McMahon, though it is now Triple H who oversees such calls.

“I don’t really know the answer to that,” Ross said when discussing whether the delay is due to personal or corporate reasons. “It’s a Vince decision at the end of the day and a Brock Lesnar decision at the end of the day. So we’ll see how that takes us. The time is running out for her to be put into the Hall of Fame, in my opinion, for this year.”

Ross went on to strongly advocate for her inclusion.

“She certainly deserved it, and she caused a stir,” he said. “She made the company a lot of money, she became a star, a big star. For me, she’s not in the Hall of Fame and that’s wrong. She should be, and hopefully that’ll come to pass sooner than later.”

Sable, whose real name is Rena Greek, was one of WWE’s most recognisable names during the Attitude Era. A former WWE Women’s Champion, she became a crossover star with mainstream visibility, including multiple Playboy covers, and played a role in the company’s surge in popularity during the late 1990s.

She famously filed a lawsuit against WWE in 1999 before later returning to the company between 2003 and 2004. Since then, she has largely stepped away from the public spotlight and now lives a private life alongside her husband, Brock Lesnar.

Gunther Still Expected To Play Major Role At WWE WrestleMania 42

Gunther Still Expected To Play Major Role At WWE WrestleMania 42

Gunther is still firmly expected to play a major role at WrestleMania 42, despite his recent absence from WWE television, according to internal discussions. One source noted that leaving him off the event would not serve anyone involved, reinforcing the belief that “The Ring General” remains a key part of the company’s plans heading into the biggest show of the year.

Gunther has not appeared on WWE programming since the widely talked about segment where he unmasked Dragon Lee, a moment that generated significant buzz. His absence in the weeks since has led to speculation about his WrestleMania status, but internally, WWE is said to still view him as an important presence for the event.

Plans for his WrestleMania direction have reportedly been affected by injury concerns. Gunther had been lined up to face Rey Mysterio, but Mysterio is currently dealing with a rib issue that has put his availability in doubt. As a result, Gunther’s opponent and exact role for WrestleMania 42 remain uncertain for now.

In recent years, Gunther has established himself as one of WWE’s most dominant stars. His historic 666 day Intercontinental Championship reign and multiple World Heavyweight Championship wins have cemented his place at the top of the roster. With that level of momentum, WWE is said to be working to ensure he remains featured at WrestleMania rather than missing the event entirely.

WWE has yet to officially confirm Gunther’s match or involvement. WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
