Early creative discussions in WWE have reportedly included potential long-term plans for Roman Reigns heading into WrestleMania 43, with Oba Femi emerging as a possible opponent in one of several scenarios being considered.

According to Self Made Pro, WWE has discussed multiple directions involving Reigns, including a possible matchup with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, with another major opponent potentially held back for WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia. One idea being circulated internally is a feud between Reigns and Oba Femi for the marquee event, although nothing has been confirmed or finalized.

The report suggests that WWE is weighing different long-term combinations depending on availability and major star involvement, including The Rock, who has been a major part of recent creative plans but is not guaranteed for future appearances.

In previous years, WWE heavily teased a Roman Reigns vs The Rock storyline. However, that direction was altered at WrestleMania 40 after backlash over Rock’s involvement shifting attention away from Cody Rhodes, who had won the Royal Rumble and earned his main event spot. The storyline ultimately pivoted into a tag team match featuring Reigns and The Rock against Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

The Rock’s most recent WWE appearance came at Elimination Chamber 2025, where he played a key role in John Cena’s heel turn and also attacked Cody Rhodes during a surprise angle following earlier interactions between them.

Oba Femi’s name has continued to gain attention internally as a future top-level opponent for Reigns. A potential feud was previously teased following Femi’s win over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, with Femi directly challenging Reigns and receiving a strong crowd reaction, including chants during Reigns’ post-show appearance.

More recently, Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match at Clash in Italy on May 31 to retain his position as the Tribal Chief. Following the loss, Fatu acknowledged Reigns on RAW, fulfilling the match stipulation. Reigns also shared a notable backstage staredown with Cody Rhodes, further fueling speculation about future top-card directions.
