Kit Wilson has provided an update on Elton Prince following Prince’s neck surgery while also discussing the future of Pretty Deadly.
During an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Wilson reflected on his current singles run and how Prince’s injury has forced major changes for both performers professionally and personally.
Kit Wilson discusses Elton Prince recovery
Wilson admitted there is still uncertainty regarding whether Prince will eventually be able to return to the ring.
“For sure it’s a way to elevate, the only issue is with Elton and the unfortunate injury, there’s still a big question mark there. We’ve got a long road of recovery and it’s still a bit of a question mark of whether he will return to the ring, it’s a serious injury.”
He added that he remains hopeful Prince will eventually come back and that his current singles push could help create an even stronger version of Pretty Deadly in the future.
“So, I hope he does, I want him to come back. And if he does, yeah, hopefully I’ve raised the profile enough that it’ll be a bigger and better Pretty Deadly.”
Wilson also explained that Prince’s injury made him realize how dependent they had become on one another as tag team partners.
“I don’t think I ever truly realized how much of a security blanket and a safety net we were for each other until we didn’t have each other until we didn’t have a choice.”
He admitted the situation initially created anxiety and uncertainty after spending years performing together as a unit.
“We were rocking and rolling as a team and then to not have that. It was very foreign, it was very scary, there was anxiety there but I think the silver lining, the beauty in it all, it forced me to look at myself and to think about these things.”
Wilson said being forced into a singles role ultimately helped him grow both personally and professionally.
“I had no choice but to own up to it so anytime I felt a bit anxious or a bit worried to not have him I had to address that feeling and thought in my head face it head on and I think because of that I’ve grown.”
He later emphasized that his success as a singles wrestler directly impacts Pretty Deadly’s long-term future.
“I think because of that, that’s why I’m pushing hard in this singles run and doing better than ever because I’ve got no choice. This is now on me for myself and for Elton I have to do this otherwise there’s no Pretty Deadly to come back if I fail at this.”
Prince underwent neck fusion surgery after suffering an injury during a SmackDown match in May of last year.
Wilson later transitioned into singles competition and introduced a revamped Pretty Deadly-inspired presentation complete with a new entrance theme and character direction focused on calling out toxicity among other wrestlers.
This weekend at WWE Backlash 2026, Wilson is scheduled to team with The Miz against Danhausen and a mystery partner.
