Tony Khan Dismisses MVP–Mike Bailey Rumor as ‘Stupidest Thing’

Tony Khan Dismisses MVP–Mike Bailey Rumor as ‘Stupidest Thing’

Tony Khan has strongly pushed back on a recent rumor involving MVP and Mike Bailey, making it clear he believes the story has no basis in reality.

Speaking on Marking Out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze, Khan addressed claims that MVP had backstage heat with Bailey and dismissed the report outright.

Tony Khan MVP Mike Bailey Rumor Response

Khan did not hold back when discussing the rumor.

“There was that weird thing. What was that thing? That was that BS rumor that you had some personal problem with Speedball, the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” Khan said.

He continued by making it clear that Bailey is well regarded within AEW.

“I have no idea who made that up. Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard,” Khan added. “I’ve never seen anybody have a problem with Speedball. In a wrestling ring, things happen, right? It’s a competitive sport, so people are fighting. I get that. But as far as conducting yourself in a locker room, conducting yourself as an athlete, everybody likes Speedball.”

Praise for Mike Bailey’s Reputation

Khan’s comments emphasized that while in-ring competition can be intense, Bailey’s reputation backstage is positive across the board. He noted that no issues have been reported regarding Bailey’s behavior, reinforcing that the rumor does not reflect reality.

Tony Khan on Wrestling Media

During the same interview, Khan also discussed the broader role of wrestling media, acknowledging that misinformation can sometimes spread but arguing that the overall impact is beneficial.

“I think overall there is more help than hurt,” Khan said. “I think there can be, at times, misinformation or even disinformation where people put incorrect things out into the world in wrestling for their own benefit. I find that sometimes there’s a lot of truth in these stories, and sometimes there’s not. When you know things firsthand, it can definitely be interesting.”

He added that media coverage has played a key role in helping fans discover wrestling from around the world.

“So yeah, I absolutely think there are benefits. You can read about wrestlers, then go out and watch them, and they can be very influential on you. There are definitely positives and negatives, but I think the positives far outweigh the negatives when it comes to wrestling newsletters and wrestling media.”

Clear Denial of Rumor

Khan’s response leaves little room for interpretation, firmly rejecting the claim and reinforcing Bailey’s standing within AEW.

The situation also highlights how quickly unverified reports can circulate, even when they involve well-regarded talent.

WWE Mistakenly Advertised Roman Reigns for June Dates

WWE Mistakenly Advertised Roman Reigns for June Dates

A new report has clarified why Roman Reigns was initially advertised for WWE’s June episodes of RAW before being removed from promotional material.

According to PWInsider, Reigns being listed for those dates was not part of an actual plan but instead the result of an internal mistake.

Roman Reigns WWE June Dates Explained

The report states that the original advertising for Reigns appearing on all June episodes of RAW came down to a “clerical error” on the WWE and TKO Group Holdings side.

This explains why his name was later quietly pulled from all June promotional listings, which had sparked speculation about a possible schedule change or storyline shift.

While the June dates were removed, Reigns is still currently advertised for every May episode of RAW.

That includes the May 4 show, where he is expected to appear ahead of his upcoming title defense.

Reigns is scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash on May 9.

The two are also set to sign their match contract on the May 4 episode of RAW, further building toward the premium live event.

The update confirms that there was no major creative or scheduling shift behind Reigns’ removal from June advertising. Instead, it was simply an internal listing mistake that was later corrected.

With that clarified, Reigns remains part of WWE’s current plans through May, with his next major appearance centered around Backlash.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods Break Silence After WWE Departure

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods Break Silence After WWE Departure

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have released their first public statements following their departure from WWE, closing the chapter on a run that spanned more than a decade for both performers.

The duo, best known as part of The New Day alongside Big E, reportedly parted ways with WWE through a mutual decision with the company.

Kofi Kingston Reflects on His Career

Kingston, who signed with WWE in 2006, shared a lengthy message expressing gratitude for his journey and the people who supported him along the way.

“It’s taken me two full days to respond to all my texts. I hadn’t been on social media until today and I’m overwhelmed by all the messages here too. So much love.

“So I can’t help but to be filled completely with gratitude…

“My story has been nothing short of remarkable and I am truly blessed to have had such an illustrious, accolade-laden and, most importantly, fun-filled career. I made my childhood dream become the most wonderful reality.

“Throughout this journey, I’m so thankful to have been surrounded by great friends and to have built so many unbreakable connections with people that I’m very proud to call my family.

“Most people go through life without ever experiencing a love like I have for Woods and E. That bond alone would have made this whole experience worth it.

“There are far too many people to mention by name here, but to everyone who has ever supported me, guided me, helped me, taught me, cheered for me, praised me, stood up for me, and even rooted against me: Thank you. I appreciate you more than words can say.

“My main mission has always been a simple one: To provide a comfortable life filled with heartwarming memories for my family. And, largely in part to all of you, I can proudly say that I have achieved that goal and more.

“This wasn’t supposed to be a novel, so let me wind it down with some advice:

“Do your best to live a life without regrets, control what you can control, always give it your all, and fight hard for what you believe in.

“Do not ever compromise or accept less than your due when it comes to your worth.

“Find the courage to believe in yourself and fearlessly pursue your goals and dreams, because anything is possible.

“The kid that was too small, short, skinny, and scrawny was never supposed to make it in this land of giants…yet here we are.

“And so…

“…as the sun sets on one chapter, so too must it rise in another. Tomorrow is indeed…a New Day.”

Xavier Woods Shares Personal Goodbye

Woods, who joined WWE in 2010, also reflected on his time with the company and what it meant to him personally.

“For the past 16 years, WWE has been my home. It’s where I grew up, found myself, failed, learned, and got to live out things the younger version of me could only dream about.

“When I first walked into FCW, I just wanted a chance to prove I belonged and to bring something different to professional wrestling. That chance became a life full of moments I’ll carry with me forever — WrestleMania, championships, King of the Ring, arenas around the world, and the gift of connecting with all of you by being myself.

“The New Day gave me a bond with @TrueKofi and @WWEBigE that I’ll cherish for life. You believed in us, even when our ideas were wild, and because of that, we got to show people that being unapologetically yourself is a strength.

“UpUpDownDown became another piece of that same mission: a place for joy, friendship, and humanity. I’m so thankful to everyone, past and present, who helped build it brick by brick.

“To the locker room, producers, trainers, crew, camera teams, ring crew, everyone behind the scenes, and the props department – thank you. WWE has the most special and hardest working props department that youll ever find. Love you guys and none of this happens without you.

“And to everyone who has been part of this ride: thank you for believing in me. Thank you for letting me be Xavier Woods. Thank you for giving me the confidence… to walk away as Austin Creed.”

Legacy of The New Day

Together with Big E, Kingston and Woods formed one of the most successful factions in WWE history after debuting as The New Day in 2014. The group went on to win multiple tag team championships and became a defining act of their era.

Kingston’s career includes a WWE Championship victory, along with multiple Intercontinental, United States, and tag team title reigns. Woods is a multi-time tag team champion and a former King of the Ring winner.

Their departures mark the end of a long-running partnership in WWE, with both now entering the next phase of their careers.

WWE Backlash Could See Kairi Sane Return to Wrap Up Storyline

WWE Backlash Could See Kairi Sane Return to Wrap Up Storyline

Kairi Sane could still appear at WWE Backlash despite her recent release, as internal belief within the company suggests her story may not be finished.

According to Bryan Alvarez, there is a strong chance Sane could return this Saturday to wrap up her ongoing storyline.

Kairi Sane Backlash Return Possibility

Alvarez noted that within WWE, there is optimism about a potential appearance.

“Within WWE, it’s felt there is a better than 50% chance that Kairi shows up at Backlash to at least finish off that storyline,” he wrote.

It remains unclear whether such an appearance would be a one-time return or something more.

WWE Backlash will feature a singles match between Iyo Sky and Asuka, continuing a storyline that previously involved Sane.

Before her release, Sane was positioned between the two, with Asuka pressuring her to prove loyalty while tensions grew with SKY. Her removal from the roster left that angle without a clear resolution.

Sane’s release was one of the more unexpected moves during WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 cuts. Fans reacted strongly, with hashtags like #WeWantKairi gaining traction online.

AJ Styles also commented that he was surprised by her departure, adding to the attention surrounding the situation.

Kairi Sane Addresses Speculation

Following the release, Sane pushed back on speculation that she left WWE to return to Japan.

“What I can say is I know there’s been a lot of speculation, but I truly love this work, my teammates, and my fans. I’ve never walked away, and I’ve given my all in everything I do,” she wrote. “I hope you’re all doing well.”

This marks her second run with WWE after returning in 2023. Prior to that, she spent time in Japan working with promotions such as Stardom and NJPW.

For now, her potential involvement at Backlash remains uncertain, but the possibility of her appearing to conclude the storyline has not been ruled out.
