Divine Dominion Continue Reign As AEW Women’s World Tag Champs

Divine Dominion, Megan Bayne and Lena Kross, had a tough task on their hands on the April 29 episode of “AEW Dynamite” as they looked to make another defense of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships. They faced off with two former AEW Women’s World Champions in the form of Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida, who were undefeated as a team heading into this match. However, they weren’t undefeated by the end of the night as Divine Dominion successfully defended their crowns.

The story of the match was that the champions had their chemistry nailed down, while the challengers weren’t exactly on the same page. Shida attempted to use her patented kendo stick at one point, only for Statlander to prevent it. That resulted in Shida literally Suplexing her partner on to Bayne out of frustration which did briefly give them some control, but Divine Dominion were able to keep Statlander isolated throughout the commercial break.

Coming out of the break, Statlander fired back with a double Hurricanrana on the champions and finally got to tag in Shida. She would go toe-to-toe with Kross to give her team the advantage, even delivering a double Knee Strike and a double Drop Kick off the apron to both Kross and Bayne. Statlander got the blind tag after Shida got hit with a Thrust Kick but she was quickly overwhelmed and the champions were in control. However, a series of moves saw Statlander hit a 450 Splash on both members of Divine Dominion for a near fall.

Shida hit the Meteora and the Falcon Arrow on Kross, but when she went for the Katana, she was met with a Suplex from Bayne, and once Kross got back to her feet, the champions hit Divine Intervention for the victory, retaining their titles in the process.

Islam Makhachev’s Welterweight Title Opponent For UFC 330 Reportedly Revealed

Islam Makhachev joined an illustrious group of fighters at UFC 322 in November 2025 when he defeated Jack Della Maddalena to clinch the UFC Welterweight Champion, becoming the 11th fighter in UFC history to win titles in two different divisions. Since that win, many fans have questioned when the man ranked number one in the men’s pound for pound rankings would make his first defense at 170 pounds given all of the big events taking place this summer, and it looks as if an answer has been given.

According to Ariel Helwani, Makhachev is reportedly set to headline UFC 330 on August 15 at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His opponent will reportedly be the number two ranked Ian Machado Garry, who currently sits on a 17-1 record with wins in his last two fights. Garry’s only loss came in December 2024 at the hands of Shavkat Rakhmonov who was originally the top contender to the UFC Welterweight Championship, but he has been out of action with a knee injury since that fight.

Makhachev was rumored to be the man to be facing Ilia Topuria in the main event of UFC Freedom 250 at The White House, which would have been a champion vs. champion fight. However, that fight wouldn’t materialize due to an injury that would keep Makhachev from training, something Topuira’s team didn’t believe as they accused him of ducking the fight. As for Makhachev’s last opponent, Maddalena fights on home soil at UFC Fight Night 275 in Perth, Australia on May 2, and as the number one ranked welterweight, he would want to throw his hat back in the cage if he can get back in the win column.

AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada Overcomes Ace Austin

Kazuchika Okada defeated Ace Austin to complete the eighth defense of his International Championship in 292 days during “AEW Dynamite.”

Austin was making the challenge despite only winning one in six singles matches since arriving in AEW, with the loss eventually extending his record to 1-6 – three of which coming in title matches, having unsuccessfully challenged Kyle Fletcher and Ricochet for the TNT and National titles respectively.

Okada took the slow and methodical approach in the early goings, cutting down Ace Austin in his flamboyant and fast-paced offense with minimalist moves; Austin hit a dropkick through the turnbuckles, looking to follow through over the top only to get kicked to the gut and planted with a DDT to the floor.

From there, it was all Okada back in the ring, kicking Austin down and driving him into the corner repeatedly. Austin sustained a quick comeback run and for a brief moment looked as though he could have stolen the victory, but he eventually fell victim to a Tombstone Piledriver followed by Rainmaker for the winning pinfall.

After the match, Okada and the Don Callis Family continued their beatdown of Austin until Juice Robinson managed to salvage his partner from the ring. Okada’s Double or Nothing challenger, Konosuke Takeshita, came down to the ramp to give an extended look at his opponent as the segment drew to a close.

Becky Lynch Details Thought & Effort That Went Into Her New WWE Theme Song

Lynch continued to explain the reasonning behind her decision to leave “Celtic Invasion” in the past, but admitted that it was difficult to get “New Lows” approved by WWE management.

“It was a bit of a struggle. I was thinking of coming back and I was like, I just don’t feel like my entrance music represents me anymore … It always felt too happy-go-lucky. And so I reached out to Dan Campbell from the Wonder Years and I was like, ‘If I can get it through, is there any chance you guys would be interested in writing me a new theme song?’ And instantly he wrote back, ‘Hell yes.”” she explained. “There was a lot of phone calls and a few fights, but we got it done.”

One of the main reasons Lynch no longer felt aligned with her original theme song was due to the persona she plays on television today, stating that even the characters she portrayed in previous years were often flawed but were accompanied to the ring by cheerful music.

“Well, it’s just so happy … ‘The Man’ was in no way happy at any point. And ‘Big Time Becks,’ she was a psychopath,” Lynch claimed. “When I came back, I felt like I had a bunch of fire in my belly, and I feel like this song reflects it.”

The importance of Lynch’s new theme song is showcased in the latest season of “WWE Unreal,” where the 39-year-old shares an emotional moment with Paul “Triple H” Levesque while rehearsing her entrance ahead of last year’s SummerSlam due to her father’s passing.

AEW TNT Champ Kevin Knight Beats MJF At His Own Game

Kevin Knight is still TNT Champion after beating MJF at his own game when he hit the former AEW World Champion with a low blow before he could use the “Dynamite” Diamond Ring on Wednesday’s edition of “AEW Dynamite.” The match opened the show, and MJF didn’t get the “easy dub” he was after.

The men were out of the ring almost immediately, with MJF dominating the champion. He sent him flying into the ring steps early, where Knight hurt his knee, and MJF power bombed him across the ring barricade. Knight finally got MJF down, but the challenger continued to roll out of the ring at every opportunity, where Knight met him every time. The fourth time, Knight hit a springboard lariat to take out MJF.

Knight dodged the Heatseeker, but MJF almost had him with a cutter. MJF rolled out of the way yet again from another top rope move, and Knight started selling his knee from the previous spot with the steps. MJF hit the Panama Sunrise, but Knight kicked out. Knight hit the frog splash, but couldn’t capitalize. MJF continued to target Knight’s knee and hit an Alabama Slam before getting the title from ringside. When the referee was distracted, MJF put on the diamond ring, but he walked into a low blow before he could use it, and Knight retained his title.

As Knight celebrated, MJF hit him with a chop block to the knee and looked to use the ring, but AEW World Champion Darby Allin came down from the rafters and hit MJF with a Scorpion Death Drop. After an argument about MJF’s rematch for the world title, Allin said he’d give Knight a shot next week if he survives Brody King. That brought out King, who also promised Knight a shot if he wins the gold.
