UFC Star Talks Missing Freedom 250, Says He’d Ask Trump To Release The Epstein Files

Sean Strickland was asked whether he had an issue with missing out on the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House in June.

Freedom 250 will emanate from a temporary set-up on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, with the event falling on President Trump’s birthday.

The card is due to be headlined by Ilia Topuria defending his Lightweight Championship against Interim Champion Justin Gaethje and co-headlined by Alex Pereira against Ciryl Gane for the Interim Heavyweight Championship.

But Strickland, challenging for the Middleweight Championship held by Khamzat Chimaev on May 9, will not be a part of the event, and was asked during a media scrum (via “MMA Mania”) whether or not that was an issue for him.

“I mean, I don’t know dude,” he responded. “I do make fun of Trump a lot. I mean, you know, the [Epstein clients/associates] list got a little weird. Got a little weird, right? I think they know I would be like, I think they know I probably wouldn’t shut the f*** up. I would win a fight and be like, ‘So, you guys, are we going to release that anytime soon? Which one of you f***ed the kids?”

Strickland has been quite vocal about the connection between Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, the financier convicted of child sex trafficking who died of an apparent suicide in prison in 2019. He had previously rebuffed the idea of fighting at the White House card on the idea he would be “hanging out with the Epstein list” and further riffed on that when he was omitted from the UFC-FBI training seminar in March.

Nashville Bids To Host WrestleMania 44 In 2028

Nashville Bids To Host WrestleMania 44 In 2028

A new city has entered the discussion to host a future WrestleMania event, with Nashville reportedly making a push for WrestleMania 44 in 2028.

According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, Nashville has submitted an official bid that includes financial backing and added incentives designed to attract WWE’s biggest annual show.

“Nashville has put in a bid for WrestleMania 2028, $3.5 million dollars plus tax breaks,” Alvarez wrote.

The reported offer signals a strong effort from the city to secure the event. While WWE has not confirmed any decision regarding WrestleMania 44, Nashville now joins other markets that are expected to compete for hosting rights.

WrestleMania locations are typically planned well in advance, and several upcoming venues are already set. WrestleMania 41 and WrestleMania 42 were both held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2025 and 2026. Meanwhile, WrestleMania 43 is scheduled to take place in Riyadh in 2027.

At this stage, there is no official announcement on where WrestleMania 44 will be held. The reported bid from Nashville shows that the process is already underway, with cities positioning themselves early to host the event.

If Nashville is selected, it would mark a major addition to WWE’s list of WrestleMania destinations. For now, the situation remains in the bidding phase, with more updates expected as WWE continues its evaluation.

Carlos Silva Explains TNA Pulling Talent From AEW-Linked Matches

Carlos Silva Explains TNA Pulling Talent From AEW-Linked Matches

Carlos Silva has addressed TNA Wrestling’s decision to remove talent from previously approved independent bookings that involved matches with AEW stars.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Silva explained that the calls were made to protect the company’s interests. The situation led to several advertised matches being canceled after earlier approval, including Nic Nemeth vs. MJF at a Create-A-Pro event and Leon Slater vs. Ricochet at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Show.

“We’re gonna make decisions that are good for TNA. And we gotta protect TNA. And we’ve had some other folks come at us, and they’ve moved into our nights. They’ve made some decisions. They’ve tried to block us in arenas and venues. And that stuff’s real, and it’s out there. And it’s okay, because everyone’s got to make the decisions for their business. But we’re also just not gonna lie down and not make decisions that are good for our business. And unfortunately, sometimes, those decisions are tough. And we’re very thoughtful about them. And we try to do the best to make good when we have to make those decisions. And in the case of Nic and Leon and a few of the matches that had to get shut down, we tried to make good and make calls and take care of the business as best we could,” Silva said.

Silva did not name specific companies, but he indicated that outside competition played a role in the decision. He referenced scheduling conflicts, venue competition, and broader business pressures as factors behind pulling talent from those appearances.

Following the cancellations, WrestleCon confirmed that TNA covered travel and hotel costs for Slater after his match was removed. The situation also drew reactions from talent involved. MJF publicly criticized the move, while Nemeth expressed disappointment over the canceled bout.

The decision highlights ongoing tensions between promotions and the challenges of managing talent appearances across different companies and events.

Triple H Post Flooded With WeWantKairi Reactions

Triple H WrestleMania Post Flooded With WeWantKairi Reactions

Triple H attempted to spotlight WWE’s behind-the-scenes work from WrestleMania 42, but the response online quickly shifted toward fan frustration over Kairi Sane’s release.

Triple H shared a clip from WWE’s official WrestleMania 42 preparation video on social media, featuring a moment with CM Punk. The post was meant to highlight the teamwork behind the event.

“It’s a team effort. Just a small glimpse into what makes WrestleMania happen. Watch now on WWE YouTube.”

Instead of focusing on the video, many fans used the post to voice their frustration. Replies were filled with the hashtag WeWantKairi, drawing attention to Sane’s recent release. She was let go as part of WWE’s post-WrestleMania roster cuts, which included multiple talents.

Sane’s departure had already sparked reaction both publicly and within WWE. She had been involved in an ongoing storyline alongside Asuka against IYO SKY, with the program building momentum since late 2025. According to Fightful, there was notable surprise backstage due to her role in active plans.

Earlier creative ideas reportedly included a triple threat match featuring Asuka, Sane, and SKY at WrestleMania 42. There had also been consideration for the Kabuki Warriors to be part of the women’s tag team match before plans changed following Paige’s return.

After her release, Sane addressed the situation on social media. She stated that her exit was not tied to a move back to Japan and made it clear she had not stepped away from wrestling by choice.

The online reaction mirrors past fan-driven campaigns. The WeWantCody movement in 2024 gained traction after The Rock was positioned in a WrestleMania storyline involving Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, which led to changes. More recently, fan support played a role in R-Truth returning shortly after his release.

The reaction to Triple H’s post shows that fan engagement remains strong, especially when it comes to roster decisions and ongoing storylines.

Backstage News on EVIL’s NXT Debut

Backstage News on EVIL’s NXT Debut

EVIL has officially debuted in WWE, but his arrival in NXT rather than the main roster was not a company call.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion appeared on the April 28 episode of NXT from the WWE Performance Center, immediately inserting himself into the NXT Championship picture. He interrupted Tony D’Angelo and handed him a Japanese symbol of war, continuing a mystery that began the previous week. EVIL then left the ring without further incident, signaling his interest in the title.

The segment also included the return of Tavion Heights and the debut of Will Kroos, both targeting D’Angelo. That moment created multiple challengers around the NXT Champion at once.

Given EVIL’s experience and age, his placement in NXT led to questions about WWE’s plans. However, according to Cory Hays of Bodyslam, the decision came from EVIL himself. He reportedly asked to begin his WWE run in NXT rather than debuting on the main roster.

His official WWE ring name has not yet been confirmed. During the broadcast, he was described simply as a “very evil wrestler.” PWInsider previously reported on April 24 that EVIL had signed with WWE after months of speculation following his departure from NJPW.

Before joining WWE, EVIL spent his entire career in New Japan Pro-Wrestling from 2011 until his contract expired in January 2026. During that time, he became a top name, leading the House of Torture faction and previously aligning with Los Ingobernables de Japón and Bullet Club.

His accomplishments include holding the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, multiple NEVER Openweight titles, and tag team success alongside SANADA.

EVIL is also known as the partner of IYO SKY, further linking him to WWE before his debut.
