Myles Borne Pits Darkstate Against Each Other To Retain WWE NXT NA Title

Myles Borne is still North American Champion after defeating DarkState’s Saquon Shugars on Tuesday’s edition of “WWE NXT.” Shugars got himself a title match from “NXT” General Manager Robert Stone last week, even after interfering in Dion Lennox’s bout against the champion.

Borne started off the match hot, and took out Shugars and Osiris Griffin on the outside with a big dive. Cutler James interfered before Borne could get back in the ring, but it barely rattled the champion. Shugars drove Borne shoulder first into the corner, then dropkicked him through the ropes to take him out on the outside. The referee tried to keep DarkState away as Borne recovered, but Shugars drove him face-first into the commentary desk.

Back in the ring, Shugars met Borne on the top rope and tried a super belly-to-belly suplex, but Borne countered and landed on top of his opponent. They traded roll-up attempts, then Borne dropkicked Shugars off the top turnbuckle, and he bounced off the top rope on the way down. DarkState then started their attempts to distract the referee, and Lennox went after Borne with a chair. Shugars wasn’t happy about the interference, and as they argued, Borne ran his opponent into Lennox, then hit a Borne Again back in the ring for the victory.

After the match, Borne was confronted by newcomer Tristan Angels from the WWE Performance Center crowd, who said Borne would be seeing more of him on “NXT.” While his back was turned, the champion was then taken out by Kam Hendrix from behind in the ring.

Chael Sonnen: Netflix Could Bring Brock Lesnar Back To MMA

Chael Sonnen says it is possible for Brock Lesnar to fight in MMA with Netflix after what appeared to be a retirement from WWE.

Lesnar was beaten by Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42 and left his gloves and boots in the ring, signifying the end of his career per the age-old wrestling tradition. But Sonnen said in a video posted to his YouTube channel that one door closing allows for another to open elsewhere, namely Lesnar making his return to the cage for the first time in 10 years.

“I’m here to tell you right now, there is a dollar amount. I don’t know that sum. $25 million would be very close. There is a dollar amount where Brock Lesnar will fight on Netflix against Francis Ngannou,” he said. “He just has to be given the opportunity. When somebody says they’re retired, it just means, ‘I don’t have opportunities in front of me right now.'”

He continued to ask whether Lesnar would want to be known as just the pro wrestler or whether legacy could come into play.

“Does he want to be known as the guy that used to be a pro wrestler? Maybe. I’m curious, I’m asking the question. That would certainly get you more notoriety and attention… But it wouldn’t be the same purity of that attention,” he said.

“It wouldn’t be as sincere or as organic. Where does MMA fit into it? I just wonder how he sees himself, I really do. I wonder if Brock is going to come back now that he’s got all this time on his hands.”

Lesnar last fought to a victory against Mark Hunt in a one-off return to UFC in 2016, though the result was later overturned to a no-contest after Lesnar tested positive for a banned substance.

Ex-UFC Star & Mass Shooting Survivor Blasts Dana White’s ‘Oddball’ WHCD Reaction

Brown opened up further on his own experience in 2004, explaining that he was standing near the stage when the initial shooting occurred, witnessing everything unfold including the moment when Gale was shot and killed.

“I watched [Gale] get his head blown off when Officer [James] Niggemeyer [shot him], which you’ve got to give him all the respect in the world, that dude’s life has been traumatized by this incident,” he said. “He had to come in and he had to make a decision in about two or three seconds because the shooter had a hostage. He has to make the decision, ‘Do I pull the trigger or not?'”

Brown explained that Niggemeyer wasn’t even on duty, but must have been in the area and seen the call. “He comes in and his whole life changed right there,” Brown said.

“My point is that was a traumatic experience for a lot of people. Not even just the people that witnessed people get shot or the people that actually had to shoot like Officer Niggemeyer or the people [that didn’t] see anything happen… I think it’s very disrespectful to say that was an awesome experience for anyone.”

He said it’s not something he likes to bring up or preach about but it something that happened to him, and he cannot wrap his head around why anyone would say that. He said he knows plenty of people who have been dramatically affected by what happened that night, before expanding on his own first-hand experience.

“Someone got shot right next to me,” Brown said. “As I was kind of running away or thinking about it, because I’m kind of running just because the crowd’s running and I’m getting pushed and stuff. I’m like, ‘I’m not going to get shot in the back, I’m going to turn around and face this guy,’ and literally the second I did that, someone got shot right next to me.”

Brown concluded by saying that he’s not one to criticize people a lot for what has been said. But he cannot respect what he said this time, feeling it to be tone deaf and unnecessary.

Sheamus Provides Injury Update After Shoulder Surgery, Eager For WWE Return

Sheamus Provides Injury Update After Shoulder Surgery, Eager For WWE Return

Sheamus has shared a detailed update on the shoulder injury that has kept him out of action since November, confirming he underwent surgery at the end of 2025 and is working toward a return.

Speaking on OTB Football, the former world champion explained that the issue began months before he stepped away from the ring. He traced the injury back to a match in Paris earlier in the year, where he first felt something was wrong.

“Yeah, this one has been difficult. It kind of came out of nowhere. I started noticing my shoulder around May-June at Clash in Paris against Rusev. It was bothering me and I thought I tore it. I got a couple of shots in there and it felt good for a little while, but ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me. I tried to push through it to the point where I couldn’t move my arms. I had surgery on December 30. Ever since then, I’ve been rehabbing. I’m dying to get back in the ring and back to work. I have cabin fever,” Sheamus said.

The injury gradually worsened despite his attempts to continue competing. He managed the issue with treatment for a period, but it eventually reached a point where surgery was required.

Sheamus last competed on an episode of WWE RAW on November 17. On that night, he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day. That match ended up being his final appearance before undergoing surgery.

Since then, Sheamus has remained active outside the ring while continuing his rehabilitation. He made a public appearance during the 2026 NFL Draft, where he announced a pick for the Tennessee Titans.

There is currently no confirmed timeline for his return to in-ring competition. However, his comments make it clear that he is focused on recovery and motivated to get back as soon as he is cleared.

Bully Ray Urges AEW To Sign Zoey Stark Following WWE Release

Bully Ray Urges AEW To Sign Zoey Stark Following WWE Release

Bully Ray believes AEW has a clear opportunity following the release of Zoey Stark and is encouraging Tony Khan to take advantage of it.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray laid out a direct plan for how AEW could introduce Stark if she signs with the company. He pointed to her recent injury and release as a ready-made story that could immediately connect with fans.

“If you’re Tony Khan, and you invite Zoey Stark in, what’s the first thing you allow her to do? Here you go sister, here’s a microphone, you’ve got five minutes. Go tell your story, go make people love you, and if you tell your real story, not only will they love you for your determination, and your passion, and your drive, but they will hate the WWE for letting you go. It’s right there on a silver platter for Tony. You don’t have to do any work. Wait 90 days, sign the girl to a contract, end of story. And Zoey is good in the ring, she’d be good for your women’s division,” Bully Ray said.

He also stressed that any initial reaction would need to be supported with consistent follow-up.

“If you’re gonna allow her to go out there, and give her five minutes, and in that five minutes people emotionally connect with Zoey, give her a standing ovation, ‘thank you Zoey,’ whatever it is, you’ve gotta follow it up. You’ve got to give Zoey time to prove that her knee is 1000%. She talked the talk, now she has to show you what she can do in the ring with her new knee, and let the world understand the WWE should have never released me,” he added.

Stark’s situation has drawn attention due to the timing of her release. She suffered a serious knee injury during a match involving Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane on an episode of WWE RAW on May 19, 2025. The injury included a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus.

Reports indicated that Stark had recently been medically cleared to return to the ring before being released as part of WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts on April 24.

The possibility of Zoey Stark signing with AEW now centers on whether the company will act on the opportunity described. Her recovery story and in-ring ability position her as a potential addition, but any move would likely come after the standard waiting period tied to WWE releases.
