Booker T Calls WrestleMania 42 Fan Behavior The Worst He Has Ever Experienced

Booker T has opened up about the chaotic fan environment during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas, detailing what he described as one of the most overwhelming and invasive experiences he has ever had with the public.

Speaking on his podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer painted a picture of constant pressure from fans, with little room to move and even less respect for personal space. According to Booker, the situation quickly spiraled beyond typical fan enthusiasm and into something far more uncomfortable.

“They were camped out. They were camped out everywhere. You couldn’t walk anywhere, they were camped out, and they were following me. I remember a guy literally filming me in the bathroom. When I walked out, he goes, ‘Hey, hey, Booker,’ and I just kept walking because I was so mad. He was filming me in the bathroom. But for me, it was the toughest time I think I’ve ever had to deal with as far as fan interaction, this year at WrestleMania in Vegas. Like I said, a lot of them were just outright disrespectful,” Booker T said.

He made it clear that this was not an isolated moment, but part of a wider pattern throughout the weekend. Fans reportedly crowded hotels, lingered in key areas, and followed talent throughout the property, creating a constant sense of being watched.

Booker also recalled how things escalated before he even had the chance to check into his hotel, describing a scene where he was immediately surrounded upon arrival.

“I remember I was going into the hotel, hadn’t even checked in yet, and I was getting mobbed. I’m just trying to get checked in. I’m like, ‘Guys, I can’t do it. I’ve got to get checked in first. Please just let me get checked in.’ And this one guy comes up to me, ‘Can I get a picture, Booker T? Can I get an autograph?’ I’m like, ‘Man, please.’ Grown man. Then he goes, ‘I got autism.’ You know you got autism. Well, why are you out here auting me? You know what I mean? He threw that card on me. I’m trying to make you feel, whatever, feel a certain way. The thing is, what they don’t understand, you do it for one person you’re going to have to do it for everybody else. It’s going to start a chain reaction. When people don’t understand that and just step on your toes and disrespect you, you really get upset. I just need people to understand that we are human, just like everybody else. We get upset just like anybody else in situations like that. I just wish we would have had better security or something to handle that situation, because it was really, really bad, the worst I’ve ever seen,” Booker T said.

His comments add to a growing list of concerns raised by talent following the WrestleMania weekend. Reports indicated that security within hotel spaces was noticeably lacking, allowing fans to gather freely in lobbies and near elevators, often trailing wrestlers as they tried to move around privately.

Other incidents during the weekend backed up those concerns. Damian Priest was said to have stepped in to help a female WWE talent get away from an aggressive group of fans, while CM Punk’s widely discussed confrontation occurred after a fan followed Bayley and AJ Lee despite them attempting to create distance.

AEW Collision Viewership & Ratings Report, 4/16/2026

Since the middle of March, “AEW Collision” has had one of its best viewership runs of the year, with the last three episodes of the show drawing over 400,000 viewers each. However, last week’s edition of the program took place on Thursday instead of Saturday due to WWE showcasing WrestleMania 42 over the weekend, and though some of AEW’s broadcasts fail to perform in its usual timeslot, “Collision” recorded one of its best totals of the year for last week’s show.

According to Wrestlenomics and Programming Insider, “Collision” averaged 473,000 viewers and posted a 0.08 in the key 18-49 demographic. When comparing both categories to the previous week, total viewership increased by 12%, while the 18-49 demo stayed even at 0.08. In addition to reaching the 470,000 viewer threshold, last Thursday marks the fourth most-watched episode of “Collision” this year. AEW also benefited from not airing “Collision” on Saturday, as the show would’ve faced stiff competition not only from WrestleMania 42, but also the beginning of the NHL and NBA Playoffs.

Along with posting a strong rating last week, “Collision’s” average viewership numbers have increased by 7% since April 2025. That said, the same cannot be said for the 18-49 demo, with the program’s totals dropping by 20% in the category since this time last year. Over the next month, AEW will continue to build to one of its biggest pay-per-views of the year, Double Or Nothing, which could result in “Collision’s” viewership staying above the 400,000 viewer mark heading into the summer.

TNA’s Nic Nemeth Comments On Canceled Match With Former AEW World Champion

TNA’s Nic Nemeth has disclosed why TNA pulled him from his match against AEW’s MJF.

Nemeth, in his conversation with “Youngstown Studio,”  praised TNA boss Carlos Silva, stating that Silva is open to doing new things. He revealed the explanation Silva gave to him, which led to the match being canceled.

“He [Silva] said, ‘Because of you know, certain deep contractual obligations, certain companies might have crossover with certain other companies that we are with their rival or with a streaming service or a cable company and you know, because of the situation — and it’s debatable and there’s a few of them — we have to do the right thing.’ Now, it’s going to be a hard choice, but it’s long-term, covers their butt legally for everything,” said Nemeth.

Nemeth is distraught that the match isn’t happening, stating how it’s a rarity in pro wrestling to see two wrestlers from different companies and different eras face each other in the ring. He is confident, though, that a match between him and the AEW star will happen someday down the line.

“I’m crushed, obviously, ’cause it’s like you can have the business aspect like, ‘Okay, you’re right. You explained to me. You showed me the legal basis why we can’t do this right now.’ But also, the part where I was like, ‘This is such a cool thing that’s going to happen because rarely you get these extra special cool moments with different other companies or different other generations or in this case, both where you can you know it’s going to be good and big and awesome and you just can’t get it done and I’m absolutely crushed,” he said. “We’ll both still do our parts one way or another, but one way down the line, one way or another, whether it takes months or years, I’m going to make this happen because it was a special one to me.”

While Nemeth and MJF won’t wrestle each other at the event, they will be at the show, with Nemeth facing Bear Bronson and MJF also in action against an unnamed star.

WWE’s Trick Williams Indicates US Title Open Challenges Will Not Continue

Through the history of the United States Championship’s tenure in WWE, the title has seen several Open Challenges laid out by the champion, but current champion Trick Williams is unsure about doing it.

Williams won his first title on the main roster at WrestleMania 42 after defeating Sami Zayn for the US title. Following the win, he was interviewed by ESPN, where he warned potential opponents to be ready to bring their A-game.

“Man, whoever wants some of Trick Williams, you better strap your boots on tight because you gonna get the best version of Trick Williams. It doesn’t matter who signs up,” warned Williams.

The wording indicated that Williams was opening the door for opponents to challenge him, but he was dissuaded by a fellow WWE star. The Miz, who was also on the ESPN panel, revealed that he had advised Carmelo Hayes to not go ahead with the Open Challenge, as he feels that an underserving star may take the title away from him. The advice seemed to resonate with the new champion, who pondered not reinstating the Open Challenge.

“Trick Williams, you know, I’m a superstar and I wear that very seriously. So, I don’t know about these free matches every single Friday night. When the people see Trick Williams, he’s going to be in a main event. It’s going to be a show when I defend this title,” he added.

After his win at ‘Mania, the former “WWE NXT” star was ringside on “WWE Raw” this past week, continuing to celebrate his victory. It remains to be seen whom he will face next, though we will likely find out on this week’s “WWE SmackDown,” with one potential opponent being his former friend and rival — and former US Champion — Carmelo Hayes.
