Rhea Ripley Wins WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42

Rhea Ripley Wins WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42

Rhea Ripley captured the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42 Sunday, defeating Jade Cargill in a competitive match that marked a shift in the division.

The match began with a tense exchange before both competitors locked up. Early momentum went to Cargill, who used her strength advantage to control the pace with a shoulder tackle and slam. Ripley answered with quick offense, including a dropkick that sent Cargill to the outside.

Cargill regained control by targeting Ripley’s back and using the ringside area to her advantage. She followed with a powerslam and later connected with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Ripley continued to push back, showing resilience and refusing to stay down.

The middle portion of the match saw both competitors trade offense. Ripley landed a double leg takedown and strikes, while Cargill responded with a spinebuster and a thrust kick for another close near fall. Attempts at finishing moves were repeatedly countered, with Ripley escaping Jaded and Cargill blocking the Riptide.

Interference became a factor late in the match. Michin appeared at ringside and distracted the referee, while B-Fab attempted to assist Cargill. The referee caught the interference before it fully impacted the finish.

Moments later, Iyo Sky made her way to the ring and neutralized both Michin and B-Fab, clearing the ringside area. The distraction allowed the match to return to a one-on-one situation.

In the closing sequence, Cargill connected with a bicycle kick and nearly secured the win. However, Ripley countered a follow-up attempt, regained control, and delivered Riptide to secure the three-count.

With the victory, Ripley becomes a two-time WWE Women’s Champion and adds another accomplishment to her career, which already includes multiple world title reigns and major tournament wins. Cargill’s reign, which began in November 2025, comes to an end.

The result establishes Ripley once again at the top of the division following WrestleMania 42.

The Demon Finn Balor Defeats Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 42

The Demon Finn Balor Defeats Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 42

Finn Balor brought back his Demon persona and defeated Dominik Mysterio in a brutal street fight at WrestleMania 42 Sunday.

The stipulation was added during the pre-show, immediately raising expectations for a violent encounter. This marked the first appearance of “The Demon” since WrestleMania 39, where Balor came up short against Adam Copeland.

Balor started aggressively, taking control early with strikes and sending Mysterio to the outside. He introduced weapons quickly, using a kendo stick and slamming Mysterio into the announce table. The action remained fast-paced, with both competitors taking advantage of the no-disqualification environment.

Mysterio responded with a suicide dive and turned the momentum by bringing chairs into the ring. He used them to target Balor’s back and attempted a suplex onto the chairs, but Balor countered and drove him down with a gourdbuster onto the setup. Balor followed with a sling blade, but Mysterio regained control with a superkick and connected with a 619, followed by a frog splash for a near fall.

As the match continued, weapons played a central role. Mysterio brought a table into the ring and later sent Balor crashing through it. He added more punishment with chair shots and even placed a chair around Balor’s head before hitting another 619. Despite the sustained offense, Balor continued to fight back.

In the final sequence, Balor regained control with repeated chair shots and a dropkick that sent Mysterio into the corner. He then positioned Mysterio on a table and climbed to the top rope. Balor finished the match with a Coup de Grace through the table, securing the three-count.

The victory marks a significant return for Balor’s Demon persona and adds another chapter to his rivalry with Mysterio. The result also highlights Balor’s ability to deliver in high-stakes matches on WWE’s biggest stage.

Trick Williams Wins United States Title at WrestleMania 42

Trick Williams Wins United States Title at WrestleMania 42

Trick Williams captured the United States Championship in a major moment at WrestleMania 42 Sunday, defeating Sami Zayn in a high-energy clash between rising talent and an established name.

The match was positioned as a clear contrast between generations, with Williams representing the next wave from NXT and Zayn entering as the reigning champion with experience on the biggest stage. Zayn’s title win had placed him firmly in the spotlight, making him a target heading into WrestleMania.

Williams made his entrance alongside Lil Yachty, who introduced him before the match. The crowd responded loudly with chants as Williams made his way to the ring, wearing a long entrance jacket that stretched up the ramp.

Once the match began, both competitors traded control. Williams showed confidence early, but Zayn slowed the pace and began to dictate the action. One of the key moments came when Zayn delivered a brainbuster on the ring apron, shifting momentum firmly in his favor.

Zayn continued to press the advantage, eventually connecting with a Helluva Kick on the outside, leaving Williams down as the referee counted. However, the situation changed when Lil Yachty became involved, creating a distraction that allowed Williams to stay in the match.

The closing stretch featured several near-finishes. Williams nearly made contact with the referee during the chaos, but Zayn capitalized with an exploder suplex in the corner. As Zayn attempted another Helluva Kick, Williams countered with a Trick Shot, securing the pinfall victory.

With the win, Williams becomes the new United States Champion, marking a major milestone in his career and establishing himself on the main roster. The result signals a shift in the SmackDown landscape, with a new champion now in place following WrestleMania 42.

Rhea Ripley Conquers Jade Cargill, Wins WWE Women’s Title At WrestleMania 42

Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to win the Women’s Championship at WWE WrestleMania 42 on Sunday, celebrating with her new title alongside Iyo Sky.

Cargill entered first conspicuously without her Baddies in an elaborate golden gown, followed by Ripley in what Michael Cole said she was wearing to nod at the level of insanity the feud had brought out of her.

That played out in the match as Ripley and Cargill went immediately at each other, matching strength for strength, maneuvering out of one another’s moves until it looked as though Ripley was going to take the advantage.

And that’s when Cargill took the low route, attacking Ripley from the outside of the ring as her challenger reached through the ropes to grab her. From there it was all Cargill, pairing boots and elbows with a rebound powerslam and going for the cover.

Ripley kicked out and fought to get back to the advantage once more, prompting Michin and B-Fab to finally make their presence known. By splitting the attention of the referee on the outside, they were able to get a cheapshot in on Ripley, allowing Cargill to hit an electric chair driver that Cole named the Sandstorm – otherwise known in AEW as Kenny Omega’s One Winged Angel – for a two-count.

Sky then emerged, running down to the ramp and drawing the attention of both the Baddies and Cargill herself. As Cargill launched for a bicycle kick in Sky’s direction on the apron, Sky leapt into a moonsault from it onto the Baddies, and the field was open for Ripley to go for Rip Tide.

She didn’t get it there, with Cargill breaking free and hitting the bicycle kick, going for Jaded. But Ripley slid out of that too, hitting Rip Tide and and making the cover for the winning pinfall.

John Cena Encounters Danhausen, The Miz After Announcing WWE WrestleMania Attendance

After John Cena announced the attendance for both night two of WWE WrestleMania 42 and the event overall, The Miz and Kit Wilson attempted to hijack his segment to demand a WrestleMania moment of their own, and they certainly got more than they bargained for with a Danhausen appearance.

Cena announced that the second night of the event saw a total of 55,255, and overall attendance was 106,072 for the “Showcase of the Immortals.” He then went to deliver a thank you to the crowd, which brought out Miz and Wilson. Miz said he wasn’t leaving the ring until he got his WrestleMania 42 moment. Cena stepped back and said, “have at it,” and stepped back before Danhausen’s music hit.

A crew of little people dressed as Danhausen, complete with face paint, appeared and danced on the stage, as Danhausen himself arrived in the “Danhausen mobile” and drove down the ramp. He got in the ring with his crew and said he had something to say, then pointed at Cena. The WrestleMania host looked baffled, but Danhausen simply said he was a “huge Fanhausen” who loved everything Cena has done.

The Miz wasn’t impressed, and Wilson told the “Littlehausens” they were toxic and knocked one of the guys over. Another then hit Wilson squarely with a low blow, and Danhausen told them all to “dog pile” on Wilson. Danhausen then hit Miz with a low blow, and Cena gave him permission to hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Then his minions carried the “A-Lister” off. Danhausen hit a smoke bomb to disappear in Cena’s face, then ran out of the ring and attempted to hide underneath it as Cena laughed at it all.
