WWE Pays Tribute To Chuck Norris Following His Passing At 86

WWE has honored the life and legacy of Chuck Norris following news of his passing at the age of 86.

Norris’ family confirmed that he passed away on Friday morning after being hospitalized the previous day due to an undisclosed medical emergency. His death marks the loss of one of the most recognizable figures in action films and television, as well as a notable crossover personality in professional wrestling.

Norris made a memorable appearance in WWE during the Survivor Series 1994. He served as the special enforcer for the Casket Match between The Undertaker and Yokozuna. At the time, the rivalry had shifted away from the WWE Championship, and his involvement added a unique element to the bout.

During the match, Norris played a key role in maintaining order at ringside. He prevented interference attempts from Bam Bam Bigelow and King Kong Bundy, reinforcing his authority as the enforcer. Jeff Jarrett also attempted to get involved but was stopped when Norris delivered a decisive head kick, drawing a strong reaction from the crowd. The Undertaker would go on to win the match.

Following the news of his passing, WWE released a statement recognizing Norris’ impact beyond the ring. The company described him as:

A legend in the television and film industry with iconic projects such as Walker Texas Ranger, The Way of the Dragon, and many more, Norris became one of the most recognizable stars in Hollywood with his martial arts background playing a key role in his films and shows.

Norris built a lasting legacy through his work in entertainment, becoming widely known for his roles in action films and television series like Walker Texas Ranger and the film The Way of the Dragon.

WWE concluded its tribute by offering condolences to Norris’ family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.

AEW’s Toni Storm Reportedly Expected To Miss Entirety Of 2026 With Injury

The AEW women’s division now feels monochromatic (and not in a fun way), darling, as “Timeless” Toni Storm will be out of action for the rest of this year, according to the newest and most recent report made by Fightful Select.

Confirming published reports made throughout this week by several publications, Fightful added to the commentary in its story on Friday that AEW is “prepared for her not to be cleared to wrestle through 2026 at minimum.” What those injury or injuries are were not disclosed in this report.

Succeeding over Marina Shafir at Revolution last Sunday, the two were scheduled to go at again this past Wednesday on “AEW Dynamite” in a no holds barred match; however, before the match was called, cameras went backstage to find a helpless Storm lying on the locker room floor with a pool of blood surrounding the left side of her head. Her Timeless Love Bomb tag team partner, Mina Shirakawa, took her place on Wednesday night, and emerged victorious over Shafir.

What’s interesting to point out is that multiple Easter eggs (or red herrings) were dropped with all the items surrounding Storm following her ambush, including the exact barbed wire baseball bat Shirakawa used on Wednesday’s match and a bouquet of flowers she once carried, the strap used in Kris Statlander and Thekla’s match that helped the latter woman become the new AEW Women’s World Champion, Penelope Ford’s mallet, the newly crowned AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion Megan Bayne’s golden chair, an “M” shaped neon light featured in past vignettes by the former TBS Women’s Champion, Mercedes Mone, and former three-time Women’s World Champion, Hikaru Shida’s, signature kendo stick. Currently, there are creative plans to address who these “attacker(s)” are in future programming.

Dave Meltzer Reports 2 Matches Set To Be Added To WWE WrestleMania 42

WrestleMania 42 is just one month away, and so far there’s five confirmed matches for the two-night event. For the top titles on both “WWE Raw” and “WWE SmackDown,” Stephanie Vaquer versus Liv Morgan, Jade Cargill versus Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns versus CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton are currently scheduled. At this time, the only non-title match is Brock Lesnar versus Oba Femi, but according to a new report from Dave Meltzer, two more matches will be added to WrestleMania 42 in the near future.

In a recent edition of the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter,” Meltzer revealed that AJ Lee versus Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship and Drew McIntyre versus Jacob Fatu will be featured on the card. Lynch and Lee have been feuding since the latter returned to WWE this past September, and after their match at the Elimination Chamber, it’s been rumored that a second singles bout is planned between both competitors. As for McIntyre and Fatu, both men will be engaging in battle on tonight’s episode of “WWE SmackDown,” but Meltzer claims that the purpose of the match is to build interest for their eventual clash at WrestleMania.

Elsewhere on the card, Meltzer stated that Seth Rollins will face either Logan Paul or Bron Breakker at the event, with the decision likely depending on the former NXT Champion’s health after undergoing hernia surgery. For both the Women’s Tag Team Titles and WWE Tag Team Titles, Meltzer believes multi-team matches will be made for the show. Additionally, El Grande Americano versus El Grande Americano, Carmelo Hayes versus Ilja Dragunov for the U.S Title, Giulia versus Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s U.S Title, Trick Williams versus Sami Zayn, and Finn Balor versus Dominik Mysterio are all matches Meltzer thinks will likely happen at the show.

At this time, the opponent for GUNTHER is unclear, though Rey Mysterio’s name was floated backstage before he picked up an injury in January. After Jelly Roll appeared on “SmackDown” last week, Meltzer wrote that it’s expected he’ll also have a match at WrestleMania.

Match Spotlight: Mick Foley Vs. Edge, WWE WrestleMania 22

Despite Bruce Prichard absolutely hating this match (no surprises there), Edge and Mick Foley have a special place for it in their hearts for a variety of reasons.

For Edge, the fact that he was given a taste of what the main event scene was like, only for it to be taken away within the same month of winning his first WWE Championship left him angry. After years of proving he could hang with the best, he felt slighted and shunned with a feeling of “I’m good enough to be at the top, why is this happening to me?” Because of that, he used this match to make a statement, that being after WrestleMania 22, WWE would have no choice but to put to Edge in the world title picture, and up until his enforced retirement in 2011, that’s exactly where he stayed.

The biggest achievement for Foley was that he finally had his WrestleMania moment, and it’s so fitting that it’s one covered in blood and fire considering what he went through in his career. It’s been said countless times, but Foley at this point in his career was a master of making young guys feel like top stars, especially in these hardcore situations. Triple H’s best work in the Attitude Era was with Cactus Jack, Randy Orton’s breakthrough performance came against Foley at Backlash 2004 to the point where he was World Heavyweight Champion by that year’s SummerSlam, and if you want to go back further, the “I Quit” match with The Rock at the 1999 Royal Rumble cemented “The Great One” as a top tier heel. That’s what happened with Edge in this match. Foley went above and beyond to make him look like the guy who was meant to be in the main event.

With all that said, it was a match where both men pulled more than their own weight, even before they went out to the ring. Foley has revealed that it was actually Edge who pushed for the stipulation to be added, claiming that Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon’s No Holds Barred Match on the same night almost forced this one to be a straight singles match, or at a push a Steel Cage Match. Considering that we are 20 years removed from WrestleMania 22 and it’s Edge and Foley’s match that is constantly brought up and not Shawn and Vince’s bout, it’s safe to say that Edge was right in pushing for a bit more violence.

After all was said and done, both men had a brief run as a duo, even becoming co-holders of the WWE Hardcore Championship (in name only). They had another bloodbath at ECW One Night Stand 2006 along with Lita against Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk, and Beulah. By the end of the year, Foley’s thirst for a WrestleMania moment was quenched, Edge was a main event guy, and their WrestleMania 22 horror movie has stood the test of the time.

Backstage Report On AEW Star Ricochet’s Social Media Controversy & Apology

It certainly wasn’t an “AHA” moment in Ricochet’s career earlier this week after he personally attacked a fan online who has multiple sclerosis. With the incident now spreading like wildfire, this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter added more insight to the situation, including the ramifications he and his wife/former WWE announcer, Samantha Johnson, are now facing online.

To summarize, this whirlwind exchange between the fan and the former and inaugural National Champion began the day after AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, where he lost his title to recent rival, “Jungle” Jack Perry. The fan appeared to have criticized the former WWE star’s acting abilities by writing on X, “[five teary-eyed laughing emojis] His acting hasn’t improved.” Angered by this fan’s remark, it appears Ricochet went to this fan’s page and noticed a motivational line the user had on their page about their experience with the chronic autoimmune disease. That said, he dropped the insensitive bomb of, “I’m glad you got MS.” The fan retorted immediately with, “Well if that makes you happy have a great life …,” then went private on their account.

Crossing a line that will be extremely hard to ever come back from, WON reported that a longtime friend of Ricochet’s in the industry advised him to delete the tweet. He followed the advice, and went forward with issuing an apology that stated, “I took out my hatred for the IWC [internet wrestling community] on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS. She didnt deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize. Moving forward I’ll do better.” As most noticed this past Wednesday, Ricochet was not on “AEW Dynamite” nor at the “AEW Collision” tapings held in Fresno, California. At this time, AEW officials have not commented on the matter.

As for Ricochet’s wife, Johnson has since deactivated her X/Twitter account after receiving violent threats. The couple officially tied the knot last year. Stay tuned with Wrestling Inc. as this is an ongoing story.
